Product Description

FOX PURMAX® SPRAYTEC FS570 is a polyurethane-based, two-component, solvent-free waterproofing membrane with crack-bridging capability that does not lose its flexibility over time, cures rapidly, and forms a seamless coating. Due to its very fast reaction time, it can be applied using specialised spray machines. Its application speed and rapid curing properties minimise downtime compared to conventional waterproofing products. It meets the requirements of TS EN 1504-2:2018 / Principle 1.3, 2.2, 5.1, 8.2. The product offers high mechanical and chemical resistance and can be used across a wide temperature range (-40°C / +120°C).

Advantages

  • Cures within seconds, walkable within minutes.
  • Applicable on horizontal and vertical surfaces.
  • Provides easy solutions in difficult details.
  • Seamless application — no joints or overlapping details.
  • Provides excellent adhesion.
  • Excellent chemical resistance.
  • Excellent mechanical resistance.
  • High puncture resistance.
  • Flexible and resistant to abrasion.
  • Crack-bridging capability.
  • Excellent adhesion to almost all surfaces (concrete, steel, aluminium, fibre, wood, foam, etc.).
  • Hydrophobic (water-repellent) properties.
  • Impermeable to liquids; suitable for continuous water contact.
  • 100% solids, VOC- and solvent-free.
  • Excellent thermal resistance — the product never re-softens and retains its elasticity at low temperatures.

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation – Concrete Surfaces

Oil, grease, fuel and paraffin residues must be removed; the surface must be completely free of release agents, cement residues, loose particles and cured membranes. Surface defects should be repaired with FOX EPOMORTAR FC510 or FOX FASTMORTAR FC245, and surface cracks should be filled with FOX PURSEAL PS600 polyurethane mastic.

  2. 2

    Surface Preparation – Asphalt Surfaces

The asphalt surface must be cleaned with a water jet. For applications subject to vehicle traffic, the load-bearing capacity of the asphalt must be suitable for the loads in use. The surface must be shot-blasted to expose at least 60% of the aggregates.

  3. 3

    Surface Preparation – Bitumen Surfaces

Loose parts on the bitumen surface must be removed, blisters opened and dried. Main cracks must be opened, repaired and taped over.

  4. 4

Surface Preparation – Plywood / OSB Surfaces

Ensure that the panels are correctly installed; all joints must be cleaned and taped with appropriate tape.

  5. 5

    Surface Preparation – Iron/Steel Surfaces

Surfaces must be shot-blasted to SA 2.5 quality and cleaned prior to primer application.

  6. 6

    Priming

Surfaces to receive FOX PURMAX® SPRAYTEC FS570 must be primed in advance with a primer appropriate to the primer selection table. Substrate temperature must be a minimum of +8°C. On standard reinforced concrete surfaces, Alternative 1 (FOX EPOTHANE® PRIMER or FOX EPOTHANE® PRIMER HB + silica sand broadcast + FOX PURMAX® PRIMER 1K transition primer) or Alternative 2 (impregnation primer + levelling primer) may be applied. FOX EPOTHANE® PRIMER WA must be used on steel, galvanised steel and aluminium surfaces.

  7. 7

    Main Coating Application

FOX PURMAX® SPRAYTEC FS570 must be applied using specialised spray machines by certified applicator dealers authorised by FOX BAU PROFESSIONAL Technical Service. Under normal conditions, a consumption of 1.8–2.2 kg/m² yields a thickness of approximately 2.0–2.2 mm.

  8. 8

    Topcoat (UV Protection)

FOX PURMAX® SPRAYTEC FS570 does not have sufficient UV resistance. On surfaces exposed to UV, FOX PURMAX® POLYUREA TOPCOAT or FOX PURMAX® TOPCOAT must be applied using a roller or airless spray machine.

  9. 9

    Equipment Cleaning

Tools and equipment must be cleaned with solvent immediately after application. Cured product can only be removed from surfaces by mechanical means.

Critical

Concrete surfaces must be at least 3 weeks old prior to application. A vapour barrier layer must be created on slabs resting on soil.

Critical

Surface moisture content must be below 4%. There must be no rising moisture according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test).

Critical

Ambient and surface temperature must be at least -5°C and at most +40°C. Substrate temperature must be a minimum of +8°C.

Critical

Relative air humidity must not exceed 85%.

Critical

FOX PURMAX® SPRAYTEC FS570 components A and B are ready-to-use products. No solvents or similar substances should be added during application.

Critical

FOX PURMAX® SPRAYTEC FS570 does not have sufficient UV resistance. On surfaces exposed to UV, FOX PURMAX® POLYUREA TOPCOAT or FOX PURMAX® TOPCOAT must be applied.

Critical

Surfaces to be coated must be primed with a primer appropriate to the primer selection table.

Important

Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days in advance and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions.

Important

Rain, dust, wind, animals and insects must be prevented from coming into contact with the coating while it is still fresh.

Important

Opened packages must be stored under appropriate conditions and used within 1 week.

Important

The product must be stored between +15°C and +25°C, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry environment. Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.

Critical

Approaching storage and application areas with open flames is dangerous; areas must be ventilated.

Critical

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations. Avoid contact with skin and eyes; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Information

Consumption figures are given for ideal conditions assuming an ambient and surface temperature of 20°C. Actual consumption may vary depending on surface texture; it should be noted that consumption will increase on uneven surfaces.

Information

The technical values above are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity. Higher temperatures shorten the time; lower temperatures extend it.

Information

Used packaging must be stored in a manner that prevents reuse.
