Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The surface to be treated must be sound, free from all oils, grease, rust, paraffin, paint and bitumen residues that could impair adhesion, with all loose particles removed and dry. Newly plastered (lime-free) and reinforced concrete surfaces must be allowed to complete a 28-day curing period. Surface irregularities on uneven substrates must be repaired with FOX MORTAR FC188 T, and a 4 cm chamfer must be applied to corners and edges. Care must be taken to prevent water ponding on the waterproofed surface. Deep cracks must be filled with FOX PURSEAL PS600.

  2. 2

    Mixing

FOX WATERPROF® FS100 must be mixed for 3–5 minutes using an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm with a suitable mixing paddle.

  3. 3

    Priming

A primer prepared by adding 50% water to FOX WATERPROF® FS100 must be applied to the surface by brush, roller or spray.

  4. 4

    Coating

After the primer has dried, FOX WATERPROF® FS100 must be applied to the surface by brush, roller or spray to achieve a wet film thickness of 1.00–1.50 mm. At corner joints and cracks, a fibre-reinforced waterproofing mesh must be embedded after the 1st coat, followed by the 2nd coat application.

  5. 5

    Tinting

FOX WATERPROF® FS100 is produced in white. It can be tinted with paste pigments at a rate not exceeding 5% of the material quantity. Once dry, it can be painted with an acrylic-based exterior facade paint.

  6. 6

    Tool Cleaning

Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with water. Once FOX WATERPROF® FS100 has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.
