Product Description
FOX CRYSTALISER FS265 is a cement-based, single-component, ready-to-use, hydrophobic-reacting, active crystalline waterproofing material. Resistant to both negative and positive water pressure, the product is mixed only with water and applied by brush. The crystals it forms on concrete surfaces are insoluble, do not separate from the surface and do not age; they protect the concrete and reinforcement from corrosion. It meets the requirements of TS EN 1504-2:2005/Principle 2.2 and 8.2, and its reaction to fire class is EN 13501-1 A1. Applied at +23°C, the material gains mechanical strength after 3 days, becomes waterproof after 7 days and reaches its final strength after 28 days.
Key Benefits
- Provides reliable protection against negative and positive water pressure; offers long-lasting waterproofing in basements, foundations and water tanks.
- Thanks to the capillary crystallisation mechanism, the crystals formed are insoluble and do not age; permanent waterproofing is achieved.
- Its single-component formula and mixing with water only allow fast and easy preparation on site, simplifying the application process.
- Water vapour permeability is maintained, so structural surfaces remain breathable; damage caused by condensation is prevented.
- Resistant to freeze-thaw effects; waterproofing performance is maintained in cold climate conditions.
- Protects concrete and reinforcement from corrosion; supports the long-term load-bearing strength of the structure.
Advantages
- Resistant to negative and positive water pressure.
- Provides waterproofing on concrete surfaces through its hydrophobic and capillary properties.
- Can be used in drinking water tanks.
- Easy and fast to apply.
- Mixed with water only.
- Long pot life.
- The crystals formed are insoluble, do not separate from the surface and do not age.
- Protects concrete and reinforcement from corrosion.
- Water vapour permeable.
- Resistant to freeze-thaw effects.
- The most economical solution applicable from the negative side.
Usage Areas
- Interior and exterior applications
- Horizontal and vertical applications
- Water tanks
- Foundations, retaining walls and concrete walls
- Elevator pits
- Basements against ground moisture
Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
The surface to be treated must be sound and free from oil, grease, rust, paraffin, paint, bitumen residues and loose particles. Iron and wooden plugs on the surface must be removed. Active water leaks must be sealed with FOX PLUG FC340; voids, uneven surfaces and corners must be repaired with FOX MORTAR FC188 T repair mortar to a minimum radius of 4 cm. The surface must be thoroughly saturated with water one day before application and must be damp during application.
- 2
Mixing
FOX CRYSTALISER FS265 is placed in a mixing container and mixing begins as the gauging water is added from above. Mix with an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm for 4–5 minutes until homogeneous. Allow to rest for 2 minutes, then mix for a further 1 minute to make it ready for application. Mixing ratio: approximately 0.3 litres of water per 1 kg of product; 6.00 litres of water for a 20 kg bag.
- 3
Application
FOX CRYSTALISER FS265 is applied in 2 coats by brush to the pre-dampened surface. Allow 3–5 hours between each coat; the second coat must be applied after the first coat has reached sufficient hardness.

Curing and Protection
After application, no curing compound must be applied over the material; the material must be kept wet for 5–7 days. In water tanks, the tank must be filled 24 hours after application. The material must be protected from direct sunlight and wind for 24 hours.
- 5
Tool Cleaning
Tools and equipment used must be cleaned with water immediately after application. Hardened material can only be removed from the surface mechanically.
If the ambient and surface temperature is below +5°C or above +30°C, application must not be carried out; appropriate temperatures must be awaited. Application must also not be carried out in excessively hot, rainy or windy weather.
After application, do not apply a curing compound over the material; keep the material wet for 5–7 days. This will ensure that crystallisation takes place.
In water tanks, the tank must be filled 24 hours after application to increase crystal formation and penetration depth.
The material must be protected from direct sunlight and wind for 24 hours.
For exterior surface applications, the surface must be protected from sun, wind, rain or frost for the first 24 hours.
For the material to complete its curing, the ambient and substrate temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature.
The working and reaction times of cement-based systems are affected by the ambient and substrate temperature and the relative humidity of the air. At low temperatures the reaction slows down; high temperatures accelerate the reaction.
The product must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a dry and cool environment (between +5°C and +30°C), protected from sunlight and frost. Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture. Opened packaging must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.
During storage and application, contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations must be worn. Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Must be stored out of reach of children.
