About Sagalassos Standard
Fox Sagalassos is a cement and polymer dispersion based decorative coating system that creates distinctive designs on old or new surfaces through its colour options and application techniques (trowel, roller, hopper spray). When the application technique meets the skill of the craftsman applicator, unique, original finishes emerge. It retains the practicality of concrete and turns it into a decorative surface reminiscent of the beauty of natural elements such as stone, rock, wood, ceramic and brick. It is extremely resistant to abrasion, oils, water, atmospheric effects and UV radiation.
The concrete must be at least 28 days old and of class C20, with a tensile strength of ≥1.5 N/mm² and a moisture content below 4%; the surface is opened with abrasive equipment, repairs are made with FOX FASTMORTAR FC245 and the surface is wetted before application without ponding. FOX UNIPRIMER FL555 is thinned with water at a ratio of 1/2 and applied as a primer with a brush or roller (0.25-0.30 kg/m²); depending on the condition of the surface, FOX ALKALI-RESISTANT REINFORCEMENT MESH is embedded. FOX DOMINO® COLOR WB pigment is added into FOX DOMINO® POLYMER SG, then FOX DOMINO® BASECOAT BC is added and mixed at 600-1000 rpm for 3-4 minutes (1 kg powder : ~240 g polymer); the 1st coat is trowelled onto the dampened surface (2.00-2.50 kg/m² powder, 0.48-0.60 kg/m² polymer). The dried coat is sanded with 60-grit abrasive, dust is removed, FOX UNIPRIMER FL555 transition primer is applied and the 2nd coat is laid in the same way. Both coats are shaped with a trowel; the trowel marks create the character of the Standard texture. The surface is protected with FOX DOMINO® AC SEALER FD791 and finished with FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB.
The coating can be walked on after 24 hours at 25 °C and reaches its final strength in 28 days. Consumption figures are given for ideal conditions at +20 °C; a site visit by our expert team is recommended before the system solution.
Advantages
