Product Description
FOX PURMAX® WB 1K is a polyurethane-modified acrylic resin-based, water-based, UV-resistant, aliphatic, single-component, ready-to-use elastic waterproofing material. Applied on roof terraces and prefabricated reinforced concrete gutters, this product offers high resistance to UV radiation, yellowing, and weathering conditions. Thanks to its elastic structure, it bridges cracks and accommodates material expansion, stress, temperature changes, and vibrations. It is solvent-free, fast-curing, and forms a seamless waterproofing membrane. It complies with EN 1504-2:2004 and holds a Fire Reaction Class E certificate.
Key Benefits
- Its single-component formula requires no on-site preparation — ready to apply straight away.
- Provides long-lasting protection with its resistance to UV radiation and weathering conditions.
- High elongation at break (500%) safely bridges cracks and movement joints.
- Its solvent-free, water-based formula allows safe application in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Resistant to freeze-thaw cycles and retains its elasticity at low temperatures.
- Forms a seamless membrane, ensuring complete watertightness at detail areas.

Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
The surface to be treated must be sound and free from all oils, grease, rust, paraffin, paint, and bitumen residues that could impair adhesion; all loose particles must be removed. Existing voids and uneven surfaces must be filled with FOX MORTAR FC188 T repair mortar, and corners and edges must be chamfered to a minimum width of 4 cm. Deep cracks must be opened in a 'V' shape and filled with FOX PURSEAL PS600 polyurethane mastic.
- 2
Mixing
FOX PURMAX® WB 1K is ready to use. Mix continuously for 1 minute using an electric mixer (300–400 rpm) and an epoxy/polyurethane resin mixing paddle until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Avoid over-mixing to minimise air entrainment.
- 3
Priming
FOX MULTIPRIMER FL888 primer must be applied to the surface using a suitable roller and brush at a rate of 150–200 g/m² depending on the condition of the surface. Application of FOX PURMAX® WB 1K can commence approximately 1–2 hours after the primer application.
- 4
Coating
After the primer has dried, FOX PURMAX® WB 1K is applied in 2 coats using a suitable roller or brush. The direction of brush application for each coat must be perpendicular to the previous one. Corner joints and cracks must be reinforced with a waterproofing reinforcement mesh after the first coat application.
- 5
Tool Cleaning
After application, tools and equipment used must be cleaned with solvent or polyurethane thinner. Once FOX PURMAX® WB 1K has cured, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means.
The ambient and surface temperature during application must not be below +5°C or above +30°C.
The applied material must be protected from rain and frost for the first 24 hours.
Each coat thickness during application must not exceed a consumption of 1.5 kg/m². Do not apply to wet substrates.
Drying times between coats must be observed during application. The inter-coat drying time is approximately 4–5 hours and may vary depending on ambient temperature, substrate temperature, substrate moisture, and air humidity. Low temperatures and high humidity extend the drying time.
FOX PURMAX® WB 1K freezes at temperatures below 0°C. It must be stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, between +5°C and +30°C. Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.
Opened containers must be tightly resealed, stored under appropriate conditions, and used within one week.
It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.
Appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations must be worn during application.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes during storage and application; if contact occurs, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. In case of ingestion, seek medical attention immediately.
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.
The technical values above are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions. Higher temperatures shorten the time; lower temperatures extend it.
