Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation – Concrete Surfaces
Oil, grease, fuel, and paraffin residues must be removed; release agents, cement residues, laitance, loose particles, and cured membranes must be completely eliminated. Surface defects must be repaired with FOX EPOMORTAR FC510 epoxy repair mortar; surface cracks must be filled with FOX PURSEAL PS600 polyurethane mastic. An appropriate FOX EPOTHANE® series primer must then be applied.
- 2
Surface Preparation – Asphalt Surfaces
The surface must be cleaned with a water jet. For applications subject to vehicle traffic, the load-bearing capacity of the asphalt must be suitable for the existing loads. The asphalt surface must be shot-blasted to expose at least 60% of the aggregate, followed by application of an appropriate FOX EPOTHANE® series primer.
- 3
Surface Preparation – Bitumen Surfaces
Loose parts must be removed, blisters opened and dried. Main cracks must be opened, repaired, and taped over; an appropriate FOX EPOTHANE® series primer must then be applied.
- 4
Surface Preparation – Plywood / OSB Surfaces
Ensure panels are correctly installed, clean all joints and tape them with appropriate tape; an appropriate FOX EPOTHANE® series primer must then be applied.
- 5
Surface Preparation – Iron / Steel Surfaces
Must be shot-blasted to SA 2.5 quality prior to primer application; an appropriate FOX EPOTHANE® series primer must then be applied.
- 6
Priming
Surfaces to receive FOX PURMAX® SPRAYTEC FS560 must be primed with an appropriate FOX EPOTHANE® series primer. Substrate temperature must be a minimum of +5°C. The product specified in the primer selection table for the relevant surface type must be used.
- 7
Coating Application
FOX PURMAX® SPRAYTEC FS560 must be applied using specialised spray equipment by Certified Specialist Applicator Dealers authorised by FOX BAU PROFESSIONAL® Technical Service. Components A and B are ready to use; no solvent or other substance should be added during application.
- 8
Topcoat (UV Protection)
FOX PURMAX® SPRAYTEC FS560 does not have sufficient UV resistance. On surfaces exposed to UV, FOX PURMAX® POLYUREA TOPCOAT or FOX PURMAX® TOPCOAT products must be applied by roller or airless spray equipment.
- 9
Tool and Equipment Cleaning
Tools and equipment must be cleaned with solvent immediately after application. Cured FOX PURMAX® SPRAYTEC FS560 can only be removed from surfaces by mechanical means.
Concrete surfaces must be at least 3 weeks old prior to application. A vapour barrier layer must be created on slabs resting on soil.
Surface temperature must be a minimum of +5°C and a maximum of +30°C. Ambient temperature must also be maintained within the range of +5°C to +30°C.
Surface moisture content must be below 4%. There must be no rising damp according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test).
FOX PURMAX® SPRAYTEC FS560 components A and B are ready-to-use products; no solvent or other substance should be added during application.
FOX PURMAX® SPRAYTEC FS560 does not have sufficient UV resistance. FOX PURMAX® POLYUREA TOPCOAT or FOX PURMAX® TOPCOAT must be applied to the surface for UV protection.
System solutions and applications must be carried out exclusively through Certified Specialist Applicator Dealers authorised by FOX BAU PROFESSIONAL® Technical Service.
Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days before application and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions.
Rain, dust, wind, animals, and insects must be prevented from entering the area while the coating is fresh.
Opened packages must be stored under appropriate storage conditions and used within 1 week.
The product must be stored between +15°C and +25°C, away from direct sunlight. Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.
Approaching storage and application areas with open flames is dangerous; areas must be ventilated.
During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational safety regulations. In case of contact with skin or eyes, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
Consumption values are given for ideal conditions assuming an ambient and surface temperature of 20°C. Actual consumption may increase depending on the surface texture and condition.
The product has 100% solid content; it contains no VOC or solvents.
