Product Description

FOX MULTISEAL® FS477 is a cement-based polymer-reinforced (CM) two-component waterproofing material. Component A consists of special cement, mineral fillers and polymer; Component B consists of liquid polymer dispersion. The product has a mix density of 1.54±0.05 kg/lt and is greenish grey in colour.

It complies with TS EN 14891:2017, the standard for liquid-applied waterproof products for use under ceramic tiling in wet areas, and meets the CMO2P classification. It features crack-bridging down to -20°C (O2) and resistance to contact with chlorinated water (P).

Applied by brush or spray machine in two or three coats to achieve a minimum total dry film thickness of 2 mm. Application temperature must be between +5°C and +30°C; service temperature range is -20°C / +80°C. At +23°C, mechanical strength is achieved after 2 days and waterproofing after 7 days.

Key Benefits

  • Retains its flexibility and crack-bridging properties even at very low temperatures (-20°C); can be used safely in cold climate conditions.
  • Technical competence is documented by compliance with TS EN 14891:2017 CMO2P class standard.
  • Provides long-lasting protection in swimming pools and water tanks thanks to its proven resistance to chlorinated water.
  • Easy to apply by brush or spray machine; enables fast and efficient application over large surfaces.
  • Eliminates the risk of water infiltration by forming a continuous, seamless and jointless waterproofing layer.
  • Water vapour permeability reduces the risk of blistering and delamination caused by vapour pressure that may build up beneath the coating.

Usage Areas

  • In interior and exterior applications, on horizontal and vertical surfaces, from the positive side where water is present
  • In swimming pools
  • In water and balance tanks
  • In all wet areas such as bathrooms, balconies, kitchens, etc.
  • On foundations, retaining walls and basement walls
  • On terraces, provided the surface is subsequently covered

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The surface to be treated must be sound and free from all oil, grease, rust, paraffin, paint and bitumen residues that could impair adhesion, and all loose particles must be removed. Iron and wooden plugs on the surface must be removed and any active water leaks must be plugged with FOX PLUG FC340. Existing voids, uneven surfaces and corner edges (chamfer of at least 4 cm) must be repaired with FOX MORTAR FC188 T repair mortar. The surface must be dampened before application.

  2. 2

    Mixing

Pour 2/3 of FOX MULTISEAL® FS477 Component B into a clean mixing container. Slowly add Component A while mixing with an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm for approximately 2–3 minutes. Allow the paste-consistency mixture to mature for 3–5 minutes; then add the remaining Component B and mix for a further 1–2 minutes. Mixing ratio: 24 kg Component A + 8 kg Component B.

  3. 3

    Application

Apply the prepared FOX MULTISEAL® FS477 mixture by waterproofing brush or spray machine in two or three coats to achieve a minimum dry film thickness of 2 mm. The direction of brush application for each coat must be perpendicular to the previous one. The wet film thickness per coat must not exceed 1.30 mm. The waiting time between coats varies according to ambient conditions. FOX TRIPLETAPE 120 chamfer tape or a 20 cm wide alkali-resistant, finish-free mesh must be embedded at corner joints. If the surface is to be covered with ceramic, marble, etc., it is recommended to use a flexible tile adhesive with C2ES1/C2TES1/C2TES2 properties in accordance with EN 12004-1 standard.

  4. 4

    Cleaning of Tools

Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with water.

Critical

Application must not be carried out if the ambient and surface temperature is below +5°C or above +30°C; appropriate temperatures must be awaited.

Critical

Application must not be carried out in extremely hot, rainy or windy weather.

Critical

For exterior surface applications, the surface must be protected from sunlight, wind, rain or frost for the first 24 hours.

Critical

For the material to complete its curing, the ambient and substrate temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature.

Critical

The wet film thickness per coat must not exceed 1.30 mm.

Important

FOX MULTISEAL® FS477 applied at +23°C gains mechanical strength after 2 days, becomes waterproof after 7 days, and reaches its final strength after 28 days.

Important

FOX TRIPLETAPE 120 chamfer tape must be applied to corner joints in the application area. Where chamfer tape is not available, after forming a corner chamfer, an alkali-resistant, finish-free mesh 20 cm wide must be embedded in the waterproofing material at the corners.

Important

Areas that need to be walked on must be covered with screed containing FOX BINDER FM125 additive.

Information

The working and reaction times of cement and acrylic-based systems are affected by ambient and substrate temperature and relative humidity. Reaction slows at low temperatures; high temperatures accelerate the reaction.

Important

FOX MULTISEAL® FS477 Component B freezes at temperatures below 0°C. Opened packages must be tightly resealed, stored under appropriate conditions and used within one week.

Information

When stored correctly at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, between +5°C and +30°C, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Critical

Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided during storage and application. In case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations during application.

Important

Must be stored out of reach of children. Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas.
