Product Description

FOX TRIPLETAPE 270° is an external corner waterproofing tape with a 3-layer construction that offers high transverse flexibility while remaining rigid (non-flexible) in the longitudinal direction. The upper and lower carrier layers are made of special polypropylene (PP) fleece, while the filler/intermediate layer consists of a highly flexible thermoplastic elastomer. Thanks to its fleece-coated construction on both sides, it has high alkali resistance and is perfectly compatible with cement-based waterproofing systems. It is applied at wall-floor corner junctions in wet areas such as bathrooms, balconies, terraces, roofs, pools, and industrial kitchens. It can also be safely used under ceramic and natural stone coverings. It provides a water impermeability performance of ≥1.5 bar according to DIN EN 1928; the service temperature range is between -30°C and +90°C.

Advantages

  • Easy and fast to apply
  • Has very high alkali resistance due to fleece coating on both sides
  • Resistant to freeze-thaw cycles
  • Resistant to chemicals
  • Resistant to hard water and chlorinated water
  • Resistant to ageing, long service life
  • Can be used in applications exposed to high loads or under constant positive water pressure

Usage Areas

  • For interior and exterior areas, walls and floors
  • In wet area (bathroom, balcony, terrace, roof, pool, industrial kitchens, etc.) waterproofing applications
  • In ceramic and natural stone applications

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The surface to be treated must be sound, dry, clean, free from oil, grease, and other adhesion-inhibiting residues, and largely flat. The specific instructions regarding substrate pre-treatment for FOX WATERPROF® FS105, FOX ULTRATEX PLUS, and FOX MULTISEAL® STANDART products must be followed.

  2. 2

Application of the Base Coat Waterproofing Material

A layer approximately 10 cm wide is applied to the corner junctions using the waterproofing material to be used in the system (FOX WATERPROF® FS105, FOX MULTISEAL® STANDART, etc.). This layer forms the base coat for the adhesion of FOX TRIPLETAPE products.

  3. 3

    Placing FOX TRIPLETAPE 270°

FOX TRIPLETAPE 270° external corner waterproofing tape is carefully placed onto the fresh waterproofing material (following the 'wet-on-wet' principle). It must be pressed down so that no air pockets remain beneath the tape. Care must be taken to ensure that no excess material remains beneath the tape.

  4. 4

    Bonding the Overlap Tapes

FOX TRIPLETAPE 120 must be bonded to both ends of the corner element with a minimum overlap of 5 cm. This ensures continuity of the waterproofing.

  5. 5

Application of the Top Coat Waterproofing Material

A second coat is applied over the placed corner element and connected tapes using the same waterproofing material. FOX TRIPLETAPE 270° must be fully embedded within the waterproofing layer.

Critical

The corner element must be pressed down so that no air pockets remain beneath the tape.

Critical

Care must be taken to ensure that no excess material remains beneath the tape.

Important

Sharp-edged, piercing, and hard tools must not be used.

Critical

FOX TRIPLETAPE 270° must be fully embedded within the waterproofing layer.

Important

Store in the original unopened packaging in a cool, dry environment, protected from frost. The optimum shelf life is 24 months.

Critical

Approaching storage and application areas with open flame is dangerous. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.

Important

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations must be worn.

Critical

During storage and application, contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
