Product Description

FOX BUTIL-TAPE is a self-adhesive tape with a polypropylene (PP) fleece carrier on both the top and bottom, coated with age-resistant, highly flexible butyl rubber. Thanks to its butyl-based structure, it offers superior adhesion performance at different material transition details and exhibits high resistance to chemical liquids. It is preferred for waterproofing applications in wet areas such as bathrooms, balconies, terraces, roofs, pools and industrial kitchens, for horizontal and vertical joint and fillet waterproofing, and for waterproofing around shower channels and drain units.

Advantages

  • Easy and fast to apply.
  • Long service life.
  • Resistant to ageing.
  • Excellent adhesion due to its butyl-based composition. Resistant to chemical liquids.

Usage Areas

  • Waterproofing applications in wet areas (bathrooms, balconies, terraces, roofs, pools, industrial kitchens, etc.)
  • Horizontal and vertical joint and fillet waterproofing
  • Waterproofing around shower channels and drain units
  • Ceramic tile and natural stone applications

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Step 1 – Substrate Waterproofing

The substrate must be waterproofed with a suitable liquid waterproofing material.

  2. 2

Step 2 – Cutting the Butyl Tape

Butyl tape is cut to the appropriate dimensions around the shower channel, strainer or drain unit.

  3. 3

    Step 3 – Application

After surface preparation is complete, the shower channel and strainer are placed on the substrate; the butyl tape is adhered to the substrate and firmly pressed with a pressure roller to ensure full bonding.

  4. 4

    Step 4 – Tile Installation

Tile installation may commence after the waterproofing application has been completed.

Critical

The substrate must be waterproofed with a suitable liquid waterproofing material before applying the butyl tape.

Important

After the butyl tape has been adhered to the substrate, it must be firmly pressed with a pressure roller to ensure full adhesion.

Important

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Information

Tile installation may commence after the waterproofing application has been completed.
