Product Description

FOX DECODUR PUTZGRUND FB310 is a water-based, filled, tintable primer with a synthetic resin and emulsion-based formulation. It is applied to reinforced concrete, plastered, gypsum board, and mineral render surfaces in interior and exterior applications. It can be used as a primer under silicone-based, silicate-based, emulsion-based, and mineral renders. When applied to fair-faced concrete surfaces, it allows the direct application of skim coat and levelling filler. Its high solids content (58–59%) provides strong coverage; it is solvent-free, making it ecologically compatible and low-odour. Its ready-to-use formulation requires only thorough mixing; in hot weather (above 25°C), up to 10% water may be added.

Advantages

  • Penetrates deeply.
  • Increases surface adhesion.
  • Provides high coverage.
  • Increases UV resistance.
  • High performance.
  • Water vapour permeable.
  • Can be applied to damp surfaces.
  • Facilitates application and texturing.
  • Reduces water penetration.

Usage Areas

  • In interior and exterior applications
  • In vertical applications
  • Over renders, mineral renders, and gypsum boards used indoors and outdoors

  • Under silicone-based, silicate-based, emulsion-based, and mineral renders
  • Applied to fair-faced concrete surfaces to allow the direct application of skim coat and levelling filler

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

Ensure that surfaces to be treated are sound, dry, dust-free, and clean. The surface must be thoroughly cleaned of all oil, grease, rust, and paraffin residues that could weaken adhesion, and all loose particles must be removed.

  2. 2

    Pre-Primer Application (If Required)

On highly porous, lightly sanded, or absorbent surfaces, one coat of FOX PRIMERA® FL220 primer should be applied first.

  3. 3

    Mixing

FOX DECODUR PUTZGRUND FB310 is ready to use; however, it must be thoroughly mixed before use. In hot weather above 25°C, up to 10% water may be added.

  4. 4

    Application

FOX DECODUR PUTZGRUND FB310 is applied to the surface using a suitable roller.

  5. 5

    Condition Check

To determine whether the surface is ready for coating, a paper (masking) tape is applied approximately 4 hours after application. When the tape is removed, there must be no dust on the tape surface; the absence of dust indicates sufficient conditioning.

  6. 6

    Tool Cleaning

After application, tools and equipment used must be cleaned with water. Once the product has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.

Critical

If the substrate temperature is below +5°C or above +35°C, application must not be carried out; appropriate temperatures must be awaited.

Critical

The product is sensitive to frost. It must not be stored or transported below 0°C.

Important

For the material to cure properly, the application and ambient temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature.

Important

During surface preparation, ensure that surfaces to be treated are sound, dry, dust-free, and clean. All oil, grease, rust, and paraffin residues must be thoroughly removed, and loose particles must be eliminated.

Important

To check the surface condition after application, a paper (masking) tape should be applied approximately 4 hours later. When the tape is removed, there must be no dust on the tape surface.

Important

Store in the original unopened packaging in a cool, dry place, protected from frost. Opened packages must be resealed tightly and used within 1 week.

Information

For short-term storage, pallets must not be stacked more than 3 high. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.

Critical

Approaching storage and application areas with open flames is dangerous. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.

Important

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Critical

Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided during storage and application. In case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.

Information

The technical values above are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions. Higher temperatures shorten drying time; lower temperatures extend it.
