Product Description
FOX SSL® 810 RAPID is a cement and synthetic polymer-based, single-component floor levelling screed. It can be applied in thicknesses of 1–10 mm and is walkable just 2–3 hours after application. Its self-levelling formula delivers a smooth and perfectly finished surface texture. It is prepared by mixing with water only and can also be applied by pump. It does not shrink and does not dust. It meets the CT-C25-F5 class requirements of the TS EN 13813 standard: it provides a compressive strength of ≥27.5 N/mm² and a flexural strength of ≥6.65 N/mm² at 28 days. It is used for floor levelling prior to the installation of ceramic, marble, parquet, carpet and PVC coverings in high-traffic areas such as hospitals, schools, hotels, shopping centres and residential buildings.

- For levelling rough and uneven concrete surfaces and correcting defects
- For levelling defective screeds prior to bonding ceramic, marble, natural stone, parquet, carpet and PVC coverings
Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
Concrete substrates to be treated must be prepared using abrasive equipment (shot blasting, milling, diamond grinding, etc.) to remove the cement laitance and obtain an open-porous surface. Weak concrete particles must be removed from the surface, and small voids and holes must be fully opened. The resulting dust must be cleaned using an industrial vacuum. The substrate must have a compressive strength of at least 25 N/mm², a tensile strength of at least 1.5 N/mm², a moisture content of maximum 4% and a temperature of minimum +8°C.
- 2
Priming
The substrate must be primed to improve floor adhesion, reduce air bubbles and prevent the mixing liquid from being absorbed by the substrate. FOX PRIMERA® FL220 or FOX UNIPRIMER FL555 primer, selected according to requirements, is mixed with water at a 1/1 ratio and applied by brush or roller. A second coat is applied on highly absorbent surfaces. Once the primer has dried completely, application of FOX SSL® 810 RAPID can begin.
- 3
Mixing
Pour the amount of water indicated on the packaging (approximately 5.00±0.25 lt for a 25 kg bag; approximately 200±10 ml per 1 kg) into a clean mixing container. Add FOX SSL® 810 RAPID slowly to the water and mix with an electric mixer and a suitable mixing paddle for 3–4 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Do not allow lumps to form at the bottom of the bucket. After waiting approximately 2 minutes, mix for a further 1 minute and make ready for use.
- 4
Coating Application
FOX SSL® 810 RAPID is poured onto the surface and applied at the desired thickness (1–10 mm) using a notched trowel or a suitable float. Once the coating reaches the appropriate consistency, a spike roller must be applied to release air. If the spike roller is applied too late, spike roller marks may remain on the surface. Pot life is approximately 20 minutes.
- 5
Tool and Equipment Cleaning
Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with water. Once FOX SSL® 810 RAPID has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.
Application should not be carried out if the ambient and surface temperature is below +8°C or above +30°C; suitable temperatures must be awaited.
Application should not be carried out in extremely hot, rainy or windy weather.
The overcoating time is 24 hours. For thicknesses of 5 mm and above, this period is 36–48 hours.
After applying FOX SSL® 810 RAPID, a minimum of 3 days must be waited before applying any further covering.
In order for the material to complete its curing, the ambient and substrate temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature.
Materials to be used on the application area should be brought to the site and stored 1–2 days in advance so that they can acclimatise to the ambient conditions.
In extremely cold weather, the ambient and substrate temperature should be raised using heaters; materials to be used should be conditioned at +20°C/+25°C and made ready for application.
After mixing, the material should be allowed to rest and then mixed again.
Lumps must not be allowed to form at the bottom of the bucket; any lumps that form must be broken up.
If the spike roller is applied too late, spike roller marks may remain on the surface.
Opened packages must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.
The product should be stored in its original packaging, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. For short-term storage, a maximum of 2 pallets may be stacked on top of each other. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked.
Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
The working and reaction times of cement-based systems are affected by ambient temperature and relative humidity. The technical values above are given for conditions of +23°C and 50% relative humidity.
It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames; areas must be ventilated. Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.
