FOX ADD ANTI-SLIP is a quartz-based additive developed to impart anti-slip properties to epoxy and polyurethane-based floor coating systems. Used in conjunction with FOX EPOTHANE® and FOX PURATHANE® series products, it provides high slip resistance and abrasion resistance on surfaces.

FOX ADD ANTI-SLIP is a quartz-based additive designed to prevent slipping in epoxy and polyurethane-based products. It has been developed for use in FOX EPOTHANE® and FOX PURATHANE® series floor coating systems. Available in three different particle sizes (150, 250, 350), the product can be used by adding 5%–10% by weight of the A+B component to the mixture, or by broadcasting it onto the surface immediately after the coating has been applied. With a quartz chemical composition, the product has an unlimited shelf life and must be stored in a dry environment.

Application Steps

Surface and Ambient Preparation
The concrete surface must be at least 3 weeks old. A vapour barrier layer must be formed on slabs resting on the ground. It must be confirmed that the ambient, surface and material temperature is between +10°C and +30°C. Materials must be brought to the application site 1–2 days before application.

Mixing (Method 1 – Addition to Mixture)
Prepare the epoxy or polyurethane product using an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm in accordance with the ratios and instructions specified in its own technical documentation. Then add FOX ADD ANTI-SLIP at up to 10% by weight of the mixed product and mix until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

Application (Method 2 – Broadcasting onto Surface)
Alternatively, immediately after the epoxy or polyurethane coating has been applied to the surface, FOX ADD ANTI-SLIP can be broadcast uniformly onto the surface to achieve slip resistance. It is recommended to contact the technical department for details regarding consumption and surface type.

Curing and Protection
After application is complete, the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. Rain, dust, wind, animals and insects must be prevented from coming into contact with the fresh coating.
Surface, ambient and material temperature must be a minimum of +10°C and a maximum of +30°C.
Concrete surfaces to be coated with epoxy/polyurethane must be at least 3 weeks old prior to application; a vapour barrier layer must be formed on slabs resting on the ground, and the building's roof, walls, doors and windows must be completed.
After application is complete, the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. If water contact occurs, softening and blistering will form on the coating, and the coating will need to be completely removed and reapplied.
Mixing must be carried out with an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm and the specified epoxy/polyurethane resin mixing tip. Otherwise, air bubbles will form on the coating.
Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days in advance and must be allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions.
In cold weather applications, the ambient and substrate temperature should be raised; packaging should be conditioned at +20°C – +25°C to improve the workability of the products before use.
Rain, dust, wind, animals and insects must be prevented from entering the building while the coating is still fresh.
In resin-based systems, pot life and curing times are affected by ambient temperature, substrate temperature and air humidity. Curing slows at low temperatures; curing accelerates at high temperatures.
The shelf life is unlimited as long as the product is stored in a dry place. It must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. Pallets must not be stacked on top of one another during storage. Shipment must follow a first-in, first-out system.
It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames; areas must be ventilated. Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately. Store out of reach of children.
