Product Description

FOX ACRILCOAT FF800 is an acrylic resin-based impregnation material used to prevent dusting on all types of concrete floors, to provide a glossy appearance, to protect pressed brick cladding, and to reduce soiling and impart water-repellent properties to ceramic joints. The product has a liquid acrylic copolymer dispersion structure and achieves a transparent appearance after drying. FOX ACRILCOAT FF800, which can be easily applied by roller or brush, can be safely used for consolidating cement-based surfaces in interior and exterior spaces. It is resistant to freeze-thaw cycles and UV radiation, and maintains water vapour permeability in exterior facade applications. Being solvent-free, it offers an environmentally friendly product profile.

Advantages

  • Easy to apply and use.
  • Prevents dusting and provides a harder surface.
  • Achieves an extremely easy-to-clean smooth surface.
  • Resistant to freeze-thaw cycles and UV radiation.
  • Water vapour permeable when applied on exterior facades.
  • Water-repellent.
  • Solvent-free.

Usage Areas

  • On all types of old or new concrete, exposed concrete and site concrete
  • On floor concrete surfaces treated with surface hardener
  • For consolidating highly absorbent and dusting cement-based surfaces in interior and exterior spaces
  • For preventing soiling of ceramic, tile and marble joints
  • For imparting water-repellent properties to ceramic, tile and marble joints
  • For imparting water-repellent properties to pressed brick cladding

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The concrete substrate to be treated must be prepared using abrasive equipment (shot blasting, milling, diamond grinding, etc.) to remove the cement laitance and achieve an open-pored surface. Weak concrete particles must be removed from the surface, and small voids and holes must be fully opened. The resulting dust must be cleaned using an industrial vacuum. INNO-CRETE repair mortars must be used for substrate repairs, filling of voids and surface levelling.

  2. 2

    Ensuring Application Conditions

For freshly cast concrete, a minimum of 28 days of curing must be awaited. Surface moisture content must be below 4% and there must be no rising moisture according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test). Relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%; dew point and condensation must be avoided. The substrate temperature must be at least +3°C above the dew point.

  3. 3

    Mixing

FOX ACRILCOAT FF800 must be mixed with an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm until homogeneous.

  4. 4

    Application

FOX ACRILCOAT FF800 is applied by roller or brush. The application rate must be adjusted according to the condition of the surface. Application can be carried out in 1 or 2 coats depending on the surface condition. The waiting time for the second coat is 2–4 hours.

  5. 5

    Tool Cleaning

Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with solvent.

Critical

Surface temperature must be a minimum of +10°C and a maximum of +30°C. Application must not be carried out outside this range.

Important

Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with solvent.

Important

The product must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost, between +5°C and +30°C. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Important

For short-term storage, pallets must not be stacked more than 3 high and shipment must follow a first-in, first-out system. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.

Critical

Approaching storage and application areas with open flame is dangerous. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.

Important

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Critical

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.

Information

Technical values are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions. Higher temperatures shorten the time, lower temperatures extend it.
