Product Description
FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB LOW VISCOSITY is a modified polyurethane-based, two-component, water-based, UV-resistant, high abrasion resistance, aliphatic isocyanate-containing, low-viscosity transparent matt topcoat material. It can be used as a topcoat in FOX BETONAGE® and SAGALASSOS series flooring systems; indoors and outdoors, on walls, ceilings, over existing epoxy/polyurethane coatings, and over existing ceramic, marble and granite surfaces. Y
Key Benefits
- Thanks to its UV resistance, it maintains colour and gloss stability outdoors for a long time.
- Its low viscosity allows various application methods including Magic Trowel; leaves no roller marks.
- Excellent abrasion resistance (Taber ~37 mg) provides long-lasting protection on heavily trafficked industrial and commercial floors.
- Its water-based formula allows safe application in enclosed and poorly ventilated areas.
- Its hydrophobic and liquid-impermeable structure contributes to the protection of hygienic environments and does not attract dirt.
- Tool cleaning can be done with water only, providing ease of maintenance after application.

Application Steps
- 1
Checking Application Conditions
Relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%. Surface, ambient and material temperatures must be between a minimum of +10°C and a maximum of +30°C. Ensure that the substrate temperature is above +10°C to guard against dew point and condensation risk.
- 2
Surface Preparation
The concrete must be at least 3 weeks old. A vapour barrier layer must be created on slabs laid on ground. The surface must be clean, dry, sound and free from contaminants such as oil and dust.
- 3
Product Acclimatisation
Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days in advance and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions. In cold weather, packaging should be kept at +20°C – +25°C until ready for use.
- 4
Mixing
Component A is thoroughly mixed on its own using an electric mixer and a suitable mixing paddle. After Component B has been fully added to Component A, mix continuously at 300–400 rpm for 3–4 minutes to obtain a homogeneous mixture. Avoid over-mixing to prevent air entrainment. Ensure that both components are between +20°C and +25°C before mixing begins.
- 5
Application
FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB LOW VISCOSITY should be applied to the surface using a short-pile velour roller or magic trowel without streaking. To avoid roller marks, ensure that successive coats are applied wet-on-wet. Application should be carried out along the short edge, and each new pass should be made immediately adjacent to the previous one.
- 6
Tool Cleaning
Tools and equipment used after application can be cleaned with water. Once the product has cured, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means.
- 7
Curing and Protection
After application is complete, the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. Full cure time is 5 days at +20°C; during this period, ambient and substrate temperatures must not fall below the minimum temperature levels.
After application, the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. If water contact occurs, the coating must be completely removed and reapplied.
Relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%. Attention must be paid to dew point and condensation; the substrate temperature must be above +10°C.
Surface temperature, ambient temperature and material temperature must be a minimum of +10°C and a maximum of +30°C.
Mixing must be carried out with an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm and a suitable epoxy/polyurethane resin mixing paddle. Use of an incorrect mixing paddle will cause air bubbles to form on the coating surface.
Concrete surfaces to be coated with epoxy/polyurethane must be at least 3 weeks old prior to application. A vapour barrier layer must be created on slabs laid on ground.
Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days in advance and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions.
In cold weather, product packaging should be kept at +20°C – +25°C until ready for use.
Rain, dust, wind, animals and insects must be prevented from entering the building while the coating is still fresh.
The product must be stored between +5°C and +30°C, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry environment. Protect from frost. Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.
Approaching storage and application areas with open flames is dangerous; areas must be ventilated.
Appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. In case of contact with skin or eyes, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.
The stated consumption figures are given at +23°C and 50% relative humidity. Actual consumption may vary depending on surface texture and ambient temperature; it should be noted that consumption will increase on rough surfaces and in cold weather conditions.
