Product Description
FOX PURATHANE® SF TOPCOAT is a polyurethane-based, two-component, aliphatic, UV-resistant, matt, flexible and coloured topcoat specially designed for sports floors. The product consists of two components — Component A and Component B — and offers a 90-minute pot life after mixing. With a density of 1.31 gr/cm³, the product can be produced in RAL colours and is applied in two coats at a consumption rate of 100–200 gr/m². It is reliably used in areas requiring high abrasion and UV resistance, such as basketball courts, volleyball courts, tennis courts, gymnasiums and office floors. After application, the surface must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours.
Key Benefits
- Provides long-lasting, durable floor protection in sports halls and courts.
- Maintains colour stability in both interior and exterior applications thanks to UV resistance.

Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
The surface to be coated must be free of dust, dirt, grease and any other substances that would impair adhesion. Application must be carried out within the recoating window of the coating system. If applying over existing coatings, consult Technical Services. Concrete surfaces must be at least 3 weeks old; a vapour barrier layer must be applied on floors laid on ground.
- 2
Mixing
Ensure that product temperatures are between +10°C and +30°C. Thoroughly mix Component A on its own using an electric mixer (300–400 rpm) and a suitable epoxy/polyurethane mixing tip until a homogeneous colour is achieved and no product remains at the bottom of the container. After adding Component B entirely into Component A, mix continuously for 3–4 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Avoid over-mixing to prevent air entrainment.
- 3
Application
FOX PURATHANE® SF TOPCOAT should be poured onto the surface in equal amounts and at equal intervals, then applied by brush, roller or spray. Application must be carried out in two coats. The pot life is 90 minutes; the drying time (70–80 µm) is 5 hours.

Cleaning of Tools
After application, tools and equipment used must be cleaned with solvent or polyurethane thinner. Once FOX PURATHANE® SF TOPCOAT has cured, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means.
Concrete surfaces must be at least 3 weeks old prior to application. A vapour barrier layer must be applied on floors laid on ground.
Ambient and surface temperature must be at least +10°C and no more than +30°C.
Before mixing, ensure that product temperatures are between +10°C and +30°C.
After application is complete, the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. If water contact occurs, softening and blistering will result; the coating must be completely removed and reapplied.
Mixing must be carried out with an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm and the specified epoxy/polyurethane resin mixing tip. Otherwise, air bubbles will form on the coating.
Rain, dust, wind, animals and insects must be prevented from entering the building while the coating is still fresh.
Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days in advance and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions.
In cold weather, ambient and floor temperatures should be raised; products should be kept at +20°C – +25°C to bring them to a ready-to-use condition.
Store in original unopened packaging in a cool, dry place, protected from frost. For short-term storage, stack no more than 2 pallets high; for long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked.
Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture when stored correctly between +5°C and +30°C.
Open flames near storage and application areas are dangerous; areas must be ventilated.
Wear work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask during application. Avoid contact with skin and eyes; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas; the product must be stored out of reach of children.
Consumption figures are given for ideal conditions at +20°C. Consumption may increase on uneven surfaces and in cold weather conditions.
Technical property values are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity. Higher temperatures shorten the time; lower temperatures extend it.
When applying over existing coatings, consult Technical Services for the appropriate application method.
