Product Description
FOX PURATHANE® ACC is a material that significantly accelerates the chemical reaction and curing time of polyurethane-based floor coating systems. It is added at a maximum of 0.1% by weight to the A+B component of the mixture; the dosage should be adjusted according to ambient temperature, humidity, and material quantity.
The product is designed for use with polyurethane-based products such as FOX PURFUGA FX145 PEBBLE, FOX PURRAZZO Series, FOX STONECARPET® BINDER PU/PU-T, FOX PURATHANE® BASECOAT COMFORT, and FOX PURATHANE® BASECOAT HARD. It is a transparent liquid with a density of 0.98±0.05 gr/cm³. The application temperature range is between +10°C and +30°C.
According to the application table data, at +23°C and 50% relative humidity, using +0.05% ACC with FOX PURATHANE® BASECOAT HARD achieves Shore A 62 and Shore D 15 hardness values at the 4th hour; in the formulation without ACC, no measurable hardness is obtained at the 4th hour.
Advantages
- Easy to use.
- Significantly reduces drying time.
Usage Areas
- FOX PURFUGA FX145 PEBBLE
- FOX PURRAZZO Series
- FOX STONECARPET® BINDER PU/PU-T
- FOX PURATHANE® BASECOAT COMFORT
- FOX PURATHANE® BASECOAT HARD
Application Steps
- 1
Substrate and Ambient Preparation
Concrete surfaces must be at least 3 weeks old. A vapour barrier layer must be created for slabs on grade. Ambient and surface temperature must be confirmed to be between +10°C and +30°C.
- 2
Material Acclimatisation
Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days before application and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions. In cold weather, packaging should be conditioned at +20°C – +25°C.
- 3
Mixing the Base Material
Mix the polyurethane-based material whose curing time you wish to accelerate using an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm with the appropriate mixing tip, in accordance with the information specified in its own technical documentation.
- 4
Addition of FOX PURATHANE® ACC
Add FOX PURATHANE® ACC at a maximum of 0.1% by weight of the mixed base material. The dosage should be adjusted according to temperature, humidity, and material quantity.
- 5
Homogeneous Mixing
After adding FOX PURATHANE® ACC, mix the material until homogeneous. Do not neglect to use the specified mixing tip to prevent air bubble formation.
- 6
Application
Apply the homogeneous mixture quickly. After application is complete, ensure the coating is protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours.
The application surface, ambient, and material temperature must be a minimum of +10°C and a maximum of +30°C.
After the application is completed, the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. If water contact occurs, softening and blistering will form on the coating; this will cause the coating to lose its properties and it will need to be completely removed and reapplied.
A maximum of 0.1% by weight of the A+B component must be used. The dosage should be adjusted according to temperature, humidity, and material quantity.
Mixing must be carried out with an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm and the specified epoxy/polyurethane resin mixing tip. If the specified mixing tip is not used, air will be entrained into the product, causing air bubbles to form on the coating after application.
Concrete surfaces to be coated with epoxy/polyurethane must be at least 3 weeks old prior to application; a vapour barrier layer must be created for slabs on grade, and the building's roof, walls, doors, and windows must be completed.
Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days in advance and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions.
In cold weather, the ambient and substrate temperature should be raised; to improve the workability of the products, packaging should be conditioned at +20°C – +25°C before use.
Rain, dust, wind, animals, and insects must be prevented from entering the building while the coating is still fresh.
In resin-based systems, pot life and curing times are affected by ambient temperature, substrate temperature, and air humidity. Curing slows at low temperatures; at high temperatures curing accelerates and working time shortens.
Shelf life: 6 months from the date of manufacture when stored correctly at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, between +5°C and +30°C.
Must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. For short-term storage, a maximum of 3 pallets may be stacked; for long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.
Approaching storage and application areas with open flame is dangerous; areas must be ventilated. Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask must be worn during application. Avoid contact with skin and eyes; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. In case of ingestion, consult a doctor immediately. Store out of reach of children.
