Product Description

FOX PROMAT GG 80/80 is a polyester-based, alkali-resistant geogrid reinforcement mesh providing biaxial tensile strength. It offers ≥80 kN/m tensile strength in both axes (MD and CMD), with elongation at nominal tensile load determined as 10% (+3). The aperture size is 29 (±3) mm in both directions and has been tested in accordance with TS EN ISO 10319.

The product is used to increase the bearing capacity of the ground and prevent local settlements in airport runway and apron foundations, road applications on weak subgrades, liquid and solid waste sites, container storage areas, and foundations of industrial structures. It is also applied as a load-bearing layer in the FOX ECODRAIN paving system.

Advantages

  • Provides long service life thanks to high alkali resistance.
  • Prevents crack formation.
  • Durable and reliable.
  • Resistant to seismic and dynamic loads.
  • Allows the fill layer placed over weak subgrade to be laid at a reduced thickness.
  • A platform is created with the fill placed over weak subgrades, preventing differential settlements.
  • Reduces the excavation volume required when removing existing subgrade that does not meet the required quality.
  • Significantly increases the bearing capacity of the ground when applied in multiple layers.

Usage Areas

  • In outdoor applications
  • In floor covering applications
  • For the prevention of cracks caused by stress and tension
  • To provide higher bearing capacity for runway, apron, and taxiway foundations at airports
  • To prevent local settlements in road applications on weak subgrades by reducing the amount of base and sub-base fill
  • In liquid and solid waste sites
  • In the foundations of container storage areas and industrial structures, to increase the bearing capacity of heavy foundations and prevent local settlements
  • As an intermediate layer for crack control and surface stability in paving systems

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The ground surface on which FOX PROMAT GG 80/80 will be laid must be levelled and prepared. Ensure that there are no harmful objects that could affect the application, such as plant roots, depressions, or large and sharp stones.

  2. 2

    Laying the Mesh

FOX PROMAT GG 80/80 must be laid evenly on the prepared surface, with any undulations tensioned out and corrected. The mesh must not be bent or creased.

  3. 3

    Overlapping and Joining

FOX PROMAT GG 80/80 must be laid side by side without leaving gaps in the reinforcement, and rolls must be overlapped at the edges. Joints must be made with a minimum overlap of 10 cm.

  4. 4

    Mixing Preparation

Aggregate and FOX STONECARPET BINDER PU 1K are mixed with a suitable mixer for approximately 3–4 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

  5. 5

    Application of the Mixture

The prepared mixture is poured onto FOX PROMAT GG 80/80 and spread to the desired thickness using a suitable trowel or screed to achieve a smooth surface.

  6. 6

    Covering Time

After the product has been laid on the ground, it must be covered as soon as possible and within a maximum of 1 month.

Important

The mesh must not be bent or creased during application.

Important

Roll cuts must be made cleanly, and no gaps should be left in the overlap zones.

Critical

After the product has been laid on the ground, it must be covered as soon as possible and within a maximum of 1 month.

Important

Store in the original unopened packaging in a cool, dry environment, protected from frost.

Important

For short-term storage, stack no more than 3 pallets on top of each other and dispatch using a first-in, first-out system. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.

Critical

It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.

Important

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask in compliance with occupational health and safety regulations must be worn.

Critical

During storage and application, avoid contact with skin and eyes; if contact occurs, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.
