Product Description
FOX PROMAT 69 is an alkali-resistant fibreglass mesh designed for reinforcement and crack prevention. Thanks to its glass fibre structure, it offers high tensile strength. It prevents tension- and traction-induced cracks in interior render applications, waterproofing systems, and floor covering applications. With an uncoated weight of 69 g/m², a mesh opening of 3.5×3.5 mm, and a thickness of 0.4 mm, it has an easy-to-apply structure. It can be embedded in a render layer or laid into polyurethane/epoxy-based membrane applications. It is applied for crack prevention in conjunction with FOX EPOTHANE® ISO-CRACK EP-2K, FOX PURMAX® 1K FS601, FOX PURMAX® 1K FS401, FOX ULTRASEAL®-UV FS485, and FOX MULTISEAL® FS478.
Advantages
- Long service life thanks to high alkali resistance.
- High tensile strength due to its glass fibre structure.
- Prevents crack formation.
- Easy to apply and provides excellent adhesion with render.
Usage Areas
- In interior render applications
- In waterproofing applications
- In floor covering applications
- To prevent tension- and traction-induced cracks that may occur in the render layer
- In areas with a high risk of cracking (door and window edges, joints)
- For crack prevention in FOX EPOTHANE® ISO-CRACK EP-2K, FOX PURMAX® 1K FS601 and FOX PURMAX® 1K FS401, FOX ULTRASEAL®-UV FS485 and FOX MULTISEAL® FS478 applications
Application Steps
- 1
Render Applications
The render layer is applied to the surface in accordance with the technical data sheet; FOX PROMAT 69 is then pressed into the surface while it is still wet. FOX PROMAT 69 must be embedded to approximately 1/3 of the depth of the render layer. Mesh joints must be applied with a minimum overlap of 10 cm. A second render layer is applied over the first coat so that the mesh is completely covered.
- 2
Epoxy-Polyurethane Based Crack-Bridging Membrane Applications
FOX EPOTHANE® ISO-CRACK EP-2K is applied in accordance with its technical data sheet. After 20–25 minutes, FOX PROMAT 69 is laid onto the application and rolled over with a roller.
- 3
Polyurethane Waterproofing Applications
FOX PURMAX® 1K FS601 / FOX PURMAX® 1K FS401 is applied in accordance with its technical data sheet. While the surface is still wet, FOX PROMAT 69 is laid onto the application and rolled over with a roller.
- 4
Cement and Acrylic Based Waterproofing Applications
FOX ULTRASEAL®-UV FS485 / FOX MULTISEAL® FS478 is applied in accordance with its technical data sheet. After the 1st coat application, FOX PROMAT 69 is embedded into the application. A second coat is applied over the first coat so that the mesh is completely covered.
The mesh must not be folded or creased during application.
Roll cuts must be made cleanly; no gaps should be left in overlap areas.
Must not be used with epoxy primer or epoxy coating under any circumstances.
Store in original unopened packaging in a cool, dry environment, protected from frost. For short-term storage, stack no more than 3 pallets high and apply a first-in, first-out dispatch system. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of one another.
Approaching storage and application areas with open flame is dangerous. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.
During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations.
During storage and application, avoid contact with skin and eyes; if contact occurs, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.
