Product Description

FOX DOMINO® PU SEALER FD793 is a polyurethane-based, single-component, solvent-borne protective material with high abrasion resistance, used to prevent dusting on all types of concrete floors and to impart a glossy appearance. Applied in its transparent, slightly yellowish colour, the product acts as a polish thanks to the glossy film layer it forms. Its waterproofing and hydrophobic properties also provide protection against freeze-induced cracking. Its ready-to-use formulation requires no mixing and is easily applied with a short-pile white velvet roller. Thanks to its UV resistance, it can be safely used in outdoor areas as well.

Key Benefits

  • Permanently prevents dusting on concrete floors, resulting in a harder and cleaner surface.
  • Waterproofing properties prevent cracking that may occur during freeze-thaw cycles.
  • Forms a glossy film layer, eliminating the need for a separate polishing application.
  • UV-resistant structure provides long-lasting protection in both indoor and outdoor areas.
  • Single-component, ready-to-use formulation speeds up and simplifies the application process.
  • Ensures an extremely easy-to-clean smooth surface, reducing maintenance costs.

Advantages

  • High abrasion resistance; prevents dusting and creates a harder surface.
  • Provides waterproofing; prevents cracking that may result from freezing.
  • Used as a polish thanks to the glossy film layer it forms.
  • Resistant to UV.
  • Easy to apply and use.
  • An extremely easy-to-clean smooth surface is achieved.
  • Liquid-impermeable.
  • Hydrophobic (water-repellent) properties.

Usage Areas

  • All types of old or new concrete, exposed concrete area slabs
  • Cement-based floor coatings, terrazzo
  • Floors and walls where a glossy appearance is desired
  • Surfaces treated with a surface hardener

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

If applying to an existing cement-based substrate, cracks must be repaired and loose particles removed from the surface. The surface is sanded and swept with an industrial vacuum machine. If the substrate is a newly applied cement-based self-levelling floor coating with no existing cracks, application of FOX DOMINO® PU SEALER FD793 can proceed after sanding.

  2. 2

    Checking Application Conditions

For new concrete, a minimum curing period of 28 days must be observed. The surface, material, and ambient temperature must be between +5°C and +30°C. Moisture at a depth of 2 cm must be below 4%, there must be no rising moisture according to ASTM, and relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%. The floor temperature must be at least +3°C above the dew point.

  3. 3

    Mixing

FOX DOMINO® PU SEALER FD793 is ready to use; no mixing is required.

  4. 4

    Application

FOX DOMINO® PU SEALER FD793 is applied with a short-pile white velvet roller. The application rate should be adjusted according to the condition of the surface. Depending on the surface condition, 2 or more coats may be applied. A waiting period of 6-12 hours between coats is required.

  5. 5

    Tool Cleaning

After application, tools and equipment used must be cleaned with solvent.

Critical

When applying to freshly cast concrete, the concrete must have completed a minimum curing period of 28 days.

Critical

The temperature of the surface to be applied, the material, and the ambient environment must be between +5°C and +30°C.

Critical

The moisture content at a concrete depth of 2 cm must be below 4%. Test methods: C-Aquameter, CM-Device, Darr Method.

Critical

There must be no rising moisture according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test).

Important

Relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%.

Critical

Beware of dew point and condensation! Dew formation and water vapour condensation on uncoated or freshly coated surfaces will damage the coating. To prevent this, the floor temperature must be at least +3°C above the dew point.

Critical

Approaching storage and application areas with open flames is dangerous. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.

Important

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Critical

During storage and application, contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Must be stored out of reach of children.

Important

Store in its original unopened packaging, in a cool and dry environment, away from direct sunlight, protected from frost, between +10°C and +30°C. Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.

Information

After application, tools and equipment used must be cleaned with solvent.
