Product Description

FOX DOMINO® MULTI FD780 is a cement-based decorative self-levelling screed containing mineral fillers and polymer-reinforced special cement. With an application thickness ranging from 5 to 50 mm, it is suitable for both thin and thick floor layers. The product is prepared by mixing with water only and allows decorative surfaces to be created in grey, white and architectural grey colour options. Its trowelable and patternable structure allows it to be used directly as a final finish coat. According to the TS EN 12190 standard, it achieves compressive strength of ≥27.4 N/mm² and flexural strength of ≥7.6 N/mm² at 28 days. Suitability for underfloor heating systems and mobile chair loads has been confirmed.

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

    Concrete substrates to be treated must be prepared using abrasive equipment (shot blasting, milling, diamond grinding, etc.) to remove the cement laitance and obtain an open-pored surface. Weak concrete fragments must be removed, and small voids and holes must be fully opened. The resulting dust must be cleaned with an industrial vacuum. The substrate must have a compressive strength of at least 25 N/mm², a tensile strength of at least 1.5 N/mm², a moisture content of maximum 4% and a temperature of minimum +5°C.

    Priming

    The substrate must be primed to increase the adhesion of the levelling screed to the floor, reduce air bubbles and prevent the mixing water from being absorbed by the substrate. Depending on the substrate structure, the appropriate primer from the EPOTHANE® series should be applied; while the material is still wet, silica sand 40–45 Afs (0.2–0.5 mm) should be broadcast over it and allowed to dry for a minimum of 12 hours (24 hours depending on weather conditions). After the excess on the surface has been scraped off and the loose sand cleaned away, FOX PRIMERA FL220 primer application should follow.

    Mixing

    Pour the amount of water indicated on the packaging (approximately 5.25±0.25 lt for a 25 kg bag) into a clean mixing container. Slowly add FOX DOMINO® MULTI FD780 into the water and mix with an electric mixer and a suitable mixing paddle at 600–1000 rpm for 3–4 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Do not allow lumps to form at the bottom of the bucket. Wait approximately 1 minute, then mix for a further 1 minute to make it ready for use.

    Application

    FOX DOMINO® MULTI FD780 is poured onto the surface and applied at the desired thickness using a notched trowel or a suitable float. If required, a spiked roller can be passed over the surface, or a pattern can be applied while the product is still wet using a suitable trowel or hand tool. The material can be applied in a single pass up to 50 mm thickness; on firm and dense substrates the minimum application thickness must be 5 mm. On substrates that are not firm, 250 ml of Rocktop B component can be added to the mixing water per bag of FOX DOMINO® MULTI FD780. For thicknesses above 10 mm, refer to the sand addition ratio table.

    Tool Cleaning

    After application, the tools and equipment used must be cleaned with water. Once FOX DOMINO® MULTI FD780 has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.

If the ambient and surface temperature is below +5°C or above +25°C, application must not be carried out; appropriate temperatures must be awaited.

The freshly applied product must be protected from sunlight and wind to prevent rapid drying.

Application must not be carried out in excessively hot, rainy or windy weather.

To allow the material to complete its curing, the ambient and substrate temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature.

Important

Materials to be used on the application area should be brought to the site and stored 1–2 days in advance so that they can acclimatise to the ambient conditions.

Important

In applications carried out in extremely cold weather, the ambient and substrate temperature should be raised using heaters, and the materials to be used should be conditioned at +20°C – +25°C to make them ready for application.

Information

The working and reaction times of cement-based systems are affected by the ambient and substrate temperature and the relative humidity of the air. At low temperatures the reaction slows down; at high temperatures the reaction accelerates.

Important

After mixing, the material should be allowed to rest and then mixed again.

Important

Opened packages must be consumed within 1 week by keeping them tightly closed.

Important

Store in the original unopened packaging in a cool, dry place, protected from frost. During short-term storage, stack no more than 3 pallets high.

Critical

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations. Avoid contact with skin and eyes; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.
