Product Description
FOX BOND FF288 is an acrylic-based, long open-time dispersion adhesive containing organic and inorganic additives that enhance bonding. Designed for the installation of PVC, vinyl and textile floor coverings, the product is pressure-sensitive, wet-setting and solvent-free, making it ideal for interior applications. With a consumption range of 180–380 gr/m² and a long working time of 45–50 minutes, it delivers high performance on both homogeneous and heterogeneous PVC floors, linoleum tiles and carpet coverings. Its suitability for underfloor-heated substrates and resistance to wheeled-chair loads make it a reliable choice for residential and commercial projects.
Advantages
- Easy to apply
- High strength
- High coverage
- Long working time
- High performance in initial and final bond
- Resistant to wheeled-chair loads
- Suitable for underfloor-heated substrates
- Solvent-free
Usage Areas
- For bonding homogeneous and heterogeneous PVC floor coverings
- For bonding carpets with PVC, foam and latex backing
- On levelled, absorbent surfaces
- For linoleum tiles up to 3.2 mm
- On residential and commercial floors
- On underfloor-heated substrates
- For thin-bed applications in interior spaces
Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
Concrete substrates to be treated must be prepared using abrasive equipment (shot blasting, milling, diamond grinding, etc.) to remove the cement laitance and achieve an open-porous surface. Weak concrete particles must be removed from the surface, and small voids and holes must be fully opened. The resulting dust must be cleaned with an industrial vacuum. For uneven surfaces, suitable INNO-LINE primer and FOX SSL® series ready-mixed levelling screeds should be used.
- 2
Mixing
FOX BOND FF288 must be thoroughly mixed in its own packaging before use.
- 3
Application
FOX BOND FF288 should be poured onto the surface and spread with a suitable notched trowel. After 10–20 minutes, the covering can be bonded to the substrate. Uniform pressure should then be applied to ensure thorough adhesion. Do not use more product than the stated consumption rates depending on the covering type and surface.

Cleaning of Tools
After application, tools and equipment must be cleaned with water while the product is still wet. Once FOX BOND FF288 has cured, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means.
Surface temperature, ambient temperature and material temperature must be a minimum of +10°C and a maximum of +30°C.
Surface moisture content must be below 4%. Test method: CM measurement or oven-drying method.
There must be no rising moisture according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test).
Relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%. Beware of dew point and condensation!
Seam welding of the covering may only be carried out 24 hours after installation.
For underfloor-heated substrates, the heating system must be operated for 10 days before installation and switched off during installation. The system may be restarted 72 hours after installation.
Do not use more product than the stated consumption rates depending on the covering type and surface.
Once cured, FOX BOND FF288 can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means. While still wet, the adhesive should be cleaned with water at room temperature and a sponge.
Under appropriate storage conditions, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture. Protect from frost. Store in the original unopened packaging in a cool, dry environment.
Approaching storage and application areas with open flame is dangerous. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.
During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations. Avoid contact with skin and eyes; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
The technical values above are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions. Higher temperatures shorten the times; lower temperatures extend them.
