Product Description
FOX PURRAZZO CONTACT is a polyurethane resin-based, two-component, solvent-free, self-levelling decorative coating material. Specially developed for the Polyurethane Micro Terrazzo system, the product offers an ideal solution for hygiene-sensitive environments thanks to its antibacterial properties and easy-to-clean structure.
Component A contains pigment and filler. After components A and B are homogeneously mixed with an electric mixer, the product is applied to the surface at a consumption rate of 3.5 kg/m²; FOX PURRAZZO CONTACT STONE is then broadcast at 1.2 kg/m². After application, the system is left for a minimum of 48 hours before sanding, followed by the application of a final polyurethane topcoat. Its non-shrinking structure, minimal maintenance requirements and ease of repair ensure long service life.
At +23°C and 50% relative humidity, the product has a working time of 60 minutes. After 7 days, Shore D hardness reaches ≥50 and adhesion strength to concrete reaches ≥1.5 N/mm².

Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
Concrete substrates to be coated must be prepared using abrasive equipment (shot blasting, milling, diamond grinding, etc.) to remove the cement laitance. Weak concrete sections must be removed, small voids and holes must be fully opened, and the resulting dust must be cleaned with an industrial vacuum. For substrate repairs and filling of voids, a mortar prepared by mixing 60–70 AFS (0.1–0.3 mm) quartz sand with FOX EPOTHANE® PRIMER series primer should be used. If undulation is present, levelling should be carried out using FOX EPOTHANE® BASECOAT or FOX PURATHANE® BASECOAT HARD products.
- 2
Mixing
Verify that product temperatures are between +10°C and +30°C. Component A (containing pigment and filler) is mixed on its own with an electric mixer (300–400 rpm) until homogeneous, ensuring no product remains on the bottom and sides of the container. After component B has been fully added to component A, mixing continues for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous blend is obtained. Avoid over-mixing to minimise air entrainment.
- 3
Application
The prepared FOX PURRAZZO CONTACT mixture is poured onto the surface and applied evenly with a trowel. After application at 3.5 kg/m², FOX PURRAZZO CONTACT STONE is broadcast over the surface at 1.2 kg/m². The cast system is sanded after a minimum of 48 hours in the sequence specified in the technical system TDS, followed by the application of a final polyurethane topcoat.

Tool Cleaning
After application, tools and equipment used must be cleaned with solvent or epoxy thinner. Once FOX PURRAZZO CONTACT has cured, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means.
The temperature of the surface to be coated and the ambient temperature must be a minimum of +10°C and a maximum of +30°C. Application must not be carried out outside this range.
The concrete substrate must be at least 3 weeks old. A vapour barrier layer must be installed on slabs laid on ground.
After application is complete, the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. Contact with water may cause softening and blistering; in such cases the coating must be completely removed and reapplied.
Surface moisture content must be below 4%. There must be no rising damp according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test).
The substrate temperature must be at least +3°C above the dew point. Dew formation and condensation will damage the coating.
Relative air humidity must not exceed 80%.
Mixing must be carried out with an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm using a suitable epoxy/polyurethane resin mixing paddle. Otherwise, air bubbles will form on the coating.
Avoid over-mixing to minimise air entrainment.
Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days in advance and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions.
In cold weather, products should be kept at +20°C – +25°C to improve workability.
Rain, dust, wind, animals and insects must be prevented from entering the building while the coating is still fresh.
Open flames near storage and application areas are dangerous; areas must be ventilated.
Protective clothing, gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. Avoid contact with skin and eyes; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
The product must be stored between +5°C and +30°C, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry environment. Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.
For short-term storage, pallets must not be stacked more than 3 high and a first-in first-out system must be applied. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.
Consumption figures are given for ideal conditions at +20°C. Actual consumption may vary depending on surface texture and ambient temperature; consumption increases on uneven surfaces and in cold weather conditions.
Working times, curing times and traffic opening times are given with reference to +23°C / 50% relative humidity and may vary with differences in temperature and humidity.
