Product Description

FOX SAGALASSOS POLYMER is a liquid polymer material with a water-based copolymer structure, specially developed for the FOX SAGALASSOS system. The product has a density of 1.01 kg/lt, a solid content of 20–25%, and is white in colour with a liquid consistency. The material has a pH value in the range of 8–10 and can be used at application temperatures between +5°C and +30°C. It is applied within the FOX SAGALASSOS system integrity in interior and exterior applications, vertical and horizontal applications, heated screeds, balconies and terraces. It is prepared based on a mixing ratio of 6.0 kg FOX SAGALASSOS POLYMER per 25 kg FOX DOMINO BASECOAT BC powder.

Advantages

  • Easy to prepare and apply.
  • Increases adhesion.
  • Reduces water absorption.
  • Increases chemical resistance.
  • Increases scratch resistance.
  • Makes the product it is mixed with more flexible.

Usage Areas

  • Interior and exterior applications, vertical and horizontal applications
  • Heated screeds, balconies and terraces
  • Within the FOX SAGALASSOS system

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The surfaces to be applied must be sound, dry, load-bearing, dust-free and clean. The surface must be thoroughly cleaned of all oil, grease, rust and paraffin residues that would weaken adhesion, and freed from loose particles.

  2. 2

    Mixing

FOX SAGALASSOS POLYMER is placed into a clean mixing container. The FOX DOMINO BASECOAT BC bag is opened and the powder is slowly added into the polymer while mixing with a drill mixer at 400–600 rpm for approximately 3 minutes until homogeneous. There must be no lumps in the material. After allowing the material to rest for 60 seconds, it is mixed again for 1 minute and made ready for application. Mixing ratio: 6.0 kg FOX SAGALASSOS POLYMER per 25 kg FOX DOMINO BASECOAT BC powder.

  3. 3

    Cleaning of Application Tools

Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with water. Once FOX SAGALASSOS POLYMER has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.

Critical

If the ambient and surface temperature is below +5°C or above +30°C, application must not be carried out; appropriate temperatures must be awaited.

Critical

The freshly applied product must be protected from sunlight and wind to prevent rapid drying.

Critical

Application must not be carried out in excessively hot, rainy or windy weather.

Critical

For the material to complete its curing, the ambient and substrate temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature.

Important

Materials to be used on the application area should be brought and stored 1–2 days in advance to allow them to acclimatise to ambient conditions.

Important

In extremely cold weather, the ambient and substrate temperature should be raised using heaters; materials should be conditioned at +20°C – +25°C and made ready for application.

Important

Different polymer ratios and different mixing methods may cause undesirable colour variations.

Important

After mixing, the material should be allowed to rest and then mixed again.

Important

Opened packages must be consumed within 1 week by keeping the lids closed.

Information

Once FOX SAGALASSOS POLYMER has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.

Information

The working and reaction times of cement-based systems are affected by ambient and substrate temperature and relative humidity in the air. At low temperatures the reaction slows down; at high temperatures the reaction speeds up.

Critical

Approaching storage and application areas with open flames is dangerous; areas must be ventilated. Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application.

Critical

Avoid contact with skin and eyes; if contact occurs, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Must be stored out of reach of children.
