Product Description

FOX PURRAZZO POINT is a polyurethane resin-based, two-component, solvent-free, self-levelling, antibacterial, easy-to-clean, self-textured and sound-insulating decorative coating material. Thanks to its 100% solid content, it offers an environmentally friendly profile. It is applied at a consumption rate of 2.5 kg/m² and can be easily spread with a trowel. After application, a minimum of 48 hours must elapse before the surface is mechanically sanded and a polyurethane topcoat is applied. The applicable surface and ambient temperature must be between +10°C and +30°C. The pot life of the product is 30–45 minutes at +23°C.

Advantages

  • Seamless and easy to apply.
  • Durable.
  • Desired designs can be achieved with different RAL colour options.
  • Easy to clean.
  • Requires minimal maintenance and is simple to repair.
  • Does not shrink.

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The concrete substrates to be coated must be opened to a porous surface by removing the cement laitance using abrasive equipment such as shot blasting, milling or diamond grinding. Weak concrete fragments must be removed, small voids and holes must be fully opened, and the resulting dust must be cleaned with an industrial vacuum. For filling voids and levelling the surface, a mortar prepared by mixing 60–70 AFS (0.1–0.3 mm) quartz sand with EPOTHANE® PRIMER series primer should be used. If undulation is present, FOX EPOTHANE BASECOAT or FOX PURATHANE BASECOAT HARD must be applied.

  2. 2

    Mixing

Ensure that the product temperature is between +10°C and +30°C. Component A (contains pigment and granules) must first be thoroughly mixed on its own using an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm with a suitable mixing paddle until a homogeneous colour is achieved. Component B must then be added entirely to Component A and mixed for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Avoid excessive mixing to prevent air entrainment.

  3. 3

    Application

The prepared FOX PURRAZZO POINT mixture is poured onto the surface and spread evenly with a trowel. The consumption rate is 2.5 kg/m². After application, a minimum of 48 hours must elapse before the system is mechanically abraded or sanded as specified in the technical TDS, followed by the application of a final polyurethane topcoat.

  4. 4

    Tool Cleaning

Tools and equipment used must be cleaned immediately after application with solvent or epoxy thinner. Once FOX PURRAZZO POINT has cured, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means.

Critical

Surface temperature, ambient temperature and material temperature must be a minimum of +10°C and a maximum of +30°C. Application must not be carried out outside this range.

Critical

After application is complete, the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. If water contact occurs, softening and blistering will form on the coating; in this case the coating must be completely removed and reapplied.

Critical

Surface moisture content must be below 4%. There must be no rising damp according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test).

Critical

The substrate temperature must be at least +3°C above the dew point. Attention must be paid to dew formation and condensation; otherwise the coating will be damaged.

Critical

Concrete surfaces to be coated with epoxy/polyurethane must be at least 3 weeks old prior to application.

Critical

Mixing must be carried out with an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm and the specified epoxy/polyurethane resin mixing paddle. Mixing with an incorrect paddle will cause air bubbles to form in the coating.

Critical

After application, the FOX PURRAZZO POINT system must be left for at least 48 hours, then mechanically abraded/sanded, followed by the application of a final polyurethane topcoat.

Important

Relative humidity must be a maximum of 80%.

Important

Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days in advance and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions.

Important

In cold weather, ambient and substrate temperatures should be raised; product packaging should be conditioned at +20°C to +25°C before use.

Important

Rain, dust, wind, animals and insects must be prevented from entering the area while the coating is still fresh.

Important

Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture when stored between +5°C and +30°C, away from direct sunlight, in the original sealed packaging.

Important

Must be stored in the original unopened packaging, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. During short-term storage, no more than 3 pallets should be stacked; during long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.

Important

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations. Skin and eye contact must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.

Important

Open flames near storage and application areas are dangerous; areas must be ventilated.

Information

Consumption figures are given for ideal conditions at +20°C. Actual consumption may vary depending on surface texture and ambient temperature; consumption may increase on uneven surfaces and in cold weather conditions.

Information

Technical values are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity. Higher temperatures shorten the pot life; lower temperatures extend it.
