Product Description
FOX PURRAZZO MIX is a two-component, polyurethane resin-based, high chemical resistance, solvent-free, self-levelling, antibacterial, steam-cleanable bio-terrazzo decorative coating material developed for polyurethane terrazzo systems. The desired design can be achieved with different RAL colour options and aggregate sizes. The product is supplied as a 20 kg set consisting of component A and component B; it is applied with a trowel and spread evenly over the surface. After application, grinding is carried out with diamond and resin pads, and the system is completed with a final coat of polyurethane sealer and topcoat. This coating system, which requires minimal maintenance and is easy to repair, provides long-lasting use in high-traffic interior spaces.

Application Steps

Surface Preparation
The concrete substrate surfaces to be coated must be treated with abrasive equipment such as shot blasting, milling, or diamond grinding to remove the cement laitance and achieve an open-pored surface. Weak concrete particles must be removed, and small voids and holes must be fully opened. The resulting dust must be cleaned with an industrial vacuum. For substrate repair, filling of voids, and surface levelling, a mortar prepared by mixing 60–70 AFS (0.1–0.3 mm) quartz sand with FOX EPOTHANE® PRIMER series primer should be used. Where necessary, the 'FOX SELF LEVELING SCREED FOR REPARING UP TO 5 mm' system should be applied for undulations.

ISO-Crack Epoxy Membrane System Application
Surfaces to receive the FOX PURRAZZO MIX system must be coated with the FOX ISO-CRACK EPOXY MEMBRAN SYSTEM to bridge existing cracks in the concrete and potential post-coating cracks. It is essential to ensure that the substrate temperature is a minimum of +10°C.

Mixing
Ensure that product temperatures are between +10°C and +30°C. Component A (containing pigment and filler) is homogenised on its own using an electric mixer. Component B is then added entirely to component A and mixed for at least 3 minutes. Once a homogeneous mixture is obtained, the required amounts of FOX EPOTHANE® FILLER TF and aggregates are added according to the system and mixed for approximately 2 more minutes (1 part polyurethane binder to 3.85 parts aggregate and 1.25 parts filler TF). Excessive mixing should be avoided to prevent air entrainment. Mixing equipment: electric mixer at 300–400 rpm with a suitable mixing paddle.

Application
The prepared FOX PURRAZZO MIX and aggregate mixture is poured onto the surface, applied evenly with a trowel, and levelled with a screed. The cast mixture is ground with diamond and resin pads until materials such as aggregate/glass are exposed. After grinding, the final coat of polyurethane sealer and topcoat applications are carried out.

Tool and Equipment Cleaning
After application, the tools and equipment used must be cleaned with solvent or epoxy thinner. Once FOX PURRAZZO MIX has cured, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means.
The temperature of the substrate, ambient environment, and material must be a minimum of +10°C and a maximum of +30°C.
Surface moisture content must be below 4%. Test method: CM measurement or oven-drying method.
There must be no rising moisture according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test).
The substrate temperature must be at least +3°C above the dew point; condensation and dew formation will damage the coating.
After application is complete, the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. In the event of water contact, softening and blistering will occur on the coating, and the coating will need to be completely removed and reapplied.
Concrete surfaces to be coated with epoxy/polyurethane must be at least 3 weeks old prior to application.
Mixing must be carried out with an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm and the specified epoxy/polyurethane resin mixing paddle. Otherwise, air will be entrained into the product, causing air bubbles on the coating.
Relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%.
Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days in advance and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions.
In cold weather, the ambient and substrate temperature should be raised; products should be kept at +20°C–+25°C and brought to ready-to-use condition.
Rain, dust, wind, animals, and insects must be prevented from entering the building while the coating is still fresh.
Approaching storage and application areas with open flames is dangerous; areas must be ventilated.
Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
The product must be stored between +5°C and +30°C, away from direct sunlight. Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.
For short-term storage, a maximum of 3 pallets may be stacked on top of each other, and shipment must follow the first-in, first-out principle. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.
The technical values given in the technical data sheet are valid for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions; higher temperatures shorten the working time, lower temperatures extend it.
