Product Description

FOX PURRAZZO CLEAR UV is a polyurethane-based, two-component, aliphatic, high abrasion resistance, UV-resistant, non-yellowing transparent coating material. The system, prepared by combining components A and B, offers a working time of approximately 25 minutes and achieves full cure within 24 hours. It is preferred for decorative floor applications exposed to medium and light traffic loads due to its ease of application, excellent chemical and mechanical resistance, hydrophobic structure, and hygienic surface properties. It adheres with high adhesion to various surfaces including asphalt. Consumption is approximately 0.25 kg/m² and a second coat can be applied if required.

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The surface to be coated must be clean, dry and free from all dust, dirt and other foreign matter. The surface moisture content must be below 4% and there must be no rising damp (to be tested by CM measurement or oven-drying method). Concrete surfaces must be at least 3 weeks old; a vapour barrier layer must be installed on ground-bearing slabs.

  2. 2

    Material Preparation

Materials to be used should be brought to the site 1–2 days before application and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions. In cold weather, the packaging should be conditioned at +20°C–+25°C before use.

  3. 3

    Mixing

First, mix component A thoroughly with an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm and an epoxy/polyurethane resin mixing paddle until no product remains on the bottom or sides of the container. Then add component B entirely into the component A container and mix for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Avoid over-mixing to minimise air entrainment.

  4. 4

    Application (Coating)

FOX PURRAZZO CLEAR UV is poured onto the surface, spread with a trowel and then evenly rolled with a roller. A second coat can be applied depending on the desired result. The working time at +23°C is approximately 25 minutes; this time is reduced at higher temperatures.

  5. 5

    Post-Application Protection

After the coating is completed, it must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. Contact of rain, dust, wind, animals and insects with the fresh coating must be prevented.

  6. 6

    Tool Cleaning

Tools and equipment used must be cleaned with solvents such as FOX CS810 or FOX C380 after application. Once FOX PURRAZZO CLEAR UV has cured, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means.

Critical

The surface and ambient temperature during application must be a minimum of +10°C and a maximum of +30°C. Application must not be carried out outside these limits.

Critical

After the application is completed, the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. In the event of water contact, softening and blistering will occur on the coating and it will lose its properties. In this case, the coating must be completely removed and reapplied.

Critical

The surface moisture content must be below 4%. There must be no rising damp according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test).

Critical

Beware of dew point and condensation! The substrate temperature must be above +10°C; otherwise, dew formation and water vapour condensation will damage the coating.

Important

Relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%.

Important

Concrete surfaces to be coated with epoxy/polyurethane must be at least 3 weeks old prior to application, a vapour barrier layer must be installed on ground-bearing slabs, and the ambient and surface temperature must be at least +10°C and no more than +30°C.

Important

Mixing must be carried out with an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm and the specified epoxy/polyurethane resin mixing paddle. Failure to use the specified mixing paddle will cause air entrainment into the product and air bubbles will form on the coating after application.

Important

Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days in advance and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions.

Important

In cold weather, the ambient and substrate temperature should be raised and the products should be conditioned at +20°C–+25°C before use.

Important

Rain, dust, wind, animals and insects must be prevented from entering the building while the coating is still fresh.

Important

The product must not be thinned.

Critical

It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames; these areas must be ventilated.

Important

Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

The product must be stored between +5°C and +30°C, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.

Information

Consumption figures are given for ideal conditions assuming an ambient and surface temperature of 20°C. It should be noted that consumption will increase on uneven surfaces and in cold weather conditions.

Information

The above technical values are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions. Higher temperatures shorten the time, lower temperatures extend it.
