Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

Cement laitance on the concrete surface is removed using abrasive equipment such as shot blasting, milling machines, or diamond grinding. Weak concrete fragments are removed, and small voids and holes are opened up. The resulting dust is cleaned with an industrial vacuum. Voids, cracks, and broken concrete are filled to ensure surface evenness. FOX MORTAR FC188 T, FOX FASTMORTAR FC245, or FOX FASTMORTAR FC233 is used for surface repair.

  2. 2

    Priming

FOX EPOTHANE® COLORTOP is used for the Classic System, FOX EPOTHANE® PRIMER for the UV System, and FOX ASPARTHANE® PRIMER for the Fast System. The resin-based product is poured onto the surface, spread with a trowel, and rolled to complete the priming. The floor temperature must be a minimum of +10°C.

  3. 3

    Basecoat Application

After the primer has cured, the coloured coating is applied. FOX EPOTHANE® COLORTOP is used for the Classic System, FOX PURATHANE® BASECOAT UV for the UV System, and FOX ASPARTHANE® BASECOAT for the Fast System. The resin-based product is poured onto the surface, applied evenly with a notched trowel, and rolled.

  4. 4

    FOX DECOFLAKE Broadcasting

Immediately after the roller application is complete, while the resin is still wet, FOX DECOFLAKE is broadcast at a rate of 20–300 gr/m² depending on the selected density.

  5. 5

    Scraping and Sanding

After 24 hours, excess and loosely adhered FOX DECOFLAKE is removed from the surface using a scraper in 2 directions. For minimum roughness, 40-grit sandpaper is used and the surface is vacuumed clean.

  6. 6

    Topcoat Application

FOX EPOTHANE® TOPCOAT CLEAR is used for the Classic System, FOX PURRAZZO® CLEAR for the UV System, and FOX ASPARTHANE® CLEARCOAT for the Fast System. The resin-based material is poured onto the surface, spread with a trowel, and rolled evenly. For smoother surfaces, the topcoat application can be repeated for an additional coat.
