Product Description

FOX BETONAGE® FC is a fine-textured, ready-to-use finish coat microcement coating material developed for unique surfaces, composed of acrylic, mineral fillers and polymer additives. It can be applied on floors and walls in both interior and exterior settings; its multi-layer structure gives the space a continuous and seamless microcement appearance. The product is applied over surfaces treated with FOX BETONAGE® BC/MC, used with FOX DOMINO COLOR WB AC colour concentrate for tinting, and protected with FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB clear matt product as the final coat. Its resistance to UV radiation and water impermeability ensure long-lasting decorative surfaces. With a density of 1.70±0.05 g/cm³, the product offers a pot life of 45–60 minutes and a drying time of 4–6 hours at application temperatures between +5°C and +30°C.

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

Concrete substrates to be coated must be prepared using abrasive equipment (shot blasting, milling, diamond grinding, etc.) to remove the cement laitance and achieve an open-pored surface. Weak concrete particles must be removed from the surface, and small voids and holes must be fully opened. The resulting dust must be cleaned using an industrial vacuum cleaner.

  2. 2

    Mixing

Before application, the material must be thoroughly mixed until homogeneous.

  3. 3

    Primer Preparation

FOX BETONAGE® FC is applied over surfaces treated with FOX BETONAGE® BC/MC. Therefore, the substrate preparation requirements of FOX BETONAGE® BC/MC coating material apply.

  4. 4

    Colouring and Coating

Stir the ready-to-use product for approximately 1 minute. Pour FOX DOMINO COLOR WB AC equivalent to 1% of the total product weight into the product and mix until the colour is homogeneous. Dampen the surface to be coated (in hot weather). Pour the homogeneous mixture onto the surface and spread it using a suitable trowel. Once the material has dried, sand the surface with 120-grit sandpaper.

  5. 5

    Dust Removal

After sanding is complete, remove dust from the surface using a vacuum cleaner and wipe with a damp cloth.

  6. 6

    Final Coat Protection

The application can be completed by applying FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB clear matt product over the surface.

  7. 7

    Tool Cleaning

All tools and equipment used during application must be cleaned with water before the material dries.

Critical

If the ambient and surface temperature during FOX BETONAGE® FC application is below +5°C or above +30°C, application must be postponed until suitable temperatures are reached. Application must not be carried out in extremely hot, rainy or very windy weather.

Critical

For exterior applications, the surface must be protected from sunlight, rain, wind and frost for the first 24 hours.

Important

High temperatures accelerate hydration and pot life is reduced accordingly. Low temperatures slow hydration and extend pot life. To allow the material to cure fully, the substrate and ambient temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature.

Important

Opened packaging must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.

Important

When stored correctly at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, between +5°C and +30°C, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture. Must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost.

Critical

It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.

Important

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Must be stored out of reach of children.
