Product Description

FOX GROUT FC155 is a cement-based, high-strength, shrinkage-free, self-levelling grout mortar containing mineral fillers and polymer-reinforced special cement. Defined under Bayındırlık Poz No: 04.613/3c, the product meets EN 1504-3 standard class R4. It provides a compressive strength of ≥60 N/mm² and a flexural strength of ≥8 N/mm² at 28 days. It offers an adhesion strength of ≥2 N/mm² to concrete and steel at 28 days. It is prepared by mixing with water only and is easily applied by pouring into formwork. It can be applied at thicknesses between 10 mm and 80 mm. Its waterproof structure provides resistance to chloride and sulphate attack and oils. Fire reaction class is EN 13501-1 A1.

Application Steps

    Machine and Foundation Preparation

    Before placing the machine, loose and deteriorated areas in the concrete must be cleaned and repaired. Surfaces that will receive grout must be roughened. Foreign matter such as oil, grease, and dust on the bolt and base surface must be cleaned. Air vent holes must have been pre-drilled in the base plate. The machine must be positioned and levelled; its position must not be altered thereafter. If the levelling shims are to be removed later, they should be lightly oiled to prevent grout adhesion. The foundation concrete must be saturated with water 6 hours before grouting.

    Formwork Preparation

    Formwork must be made from solid material that will not absorb or leak the grout mortar water, and must be assembled to withstand the forces it will encounter during the process. A pouring gap of approximately 5 cm must be left between the edge of the base plate and the formwork on the pouring side. For very large plates, a pressure head of up to 1.5 m can be applied, or pump/pipe equipment can be used. The edges of the formwork must be gap-free to prevent leakage and pressure loss.

    Mixing

    The appropriate amount of water (approximately ~3.50±0.25 litres for a 25 kg bag) is placed in a clean mixing container. FOX GROUT FC155 is slowly added to the water while mixing with an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm for approximately 2–3 minutes until homogeneous. No lumps should remain. The material is left to rest for 3–5 minutes and then mixed again for 1 minute before application.

    Application

    If vibration is coming from the surroundings, operating machines must be stopped for at least 10–12 hours at +20°C until the grout has set. The prepared mortar is applied in a single layer with a minimum thickness of 10 mm by pouring continuously from one side of the formwork only. In large areas, a thickness of 8 cm must not be exceeded; thicker applications can be carried out in 2 or 3 layers. Double-sided pouring must be avoided. Placement should be done with a steel rod with a hooked end; a vibrator must not be used. Formwork must not be removed before 18–24 hours. Large surfaces exposed to the atmosphere must be protected with hessian cloth, water, or curing compounds for 24–48 hours. Levelling shims must not be removed before 2 days.

    Tool and Equipment Cleaning

    Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with water. Once FOX GROUT FC155 has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.

FOX GROUT FC155 must be applied within 45 minutes at +20°C.

In outdoor applications, the product must be protected from sunlight, rain, wind, and frost for the first 24 hours.

The substrate temperature and ambient temperature must not fall below the minimum permitted temperature (+5°C); otherwise curing cannot be completed.

Important

For applications at low temperatures (+5°C to +10°C), FOX GROUT FC155 should be stored in a warm place, the mixing water should be heated to between +30°C and +50°C, and the areas to be filled should be covered and protected from cold prior to application.

Important

For applications at high temperatures (+25°C to +30°C), FOX GROUT FC155 should be stored in a cool place and the mixing water should be prepared using a cold supply or ice.

Important

Working and reaction times of cement-based repair mortars are affected by air temperature, humidity, and substrate temperatures. High temperatures accelerate hydration; low temperatures slow it down.

Important

The product should be stored in its original unopened packaging in a dry and cool (+5°C to +30°C) environment, protected from sunlight and frost. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Important

Opened packages must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.

Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas; the product must be stored out of reach of children.

Information

The technical values above are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions. Higher temperatures shorten the time; lower temperatures extend it.
