Product Description
FOX CARBOND® FIBER 6024 is a carbon fibre (24K) woven fabric developed for structural strengthening projects. With a unit weight of 600 g/m², a thickness of 0.334 mm and a density of 1.80 g/cm³, it is a lightweight, high-strength reinforcement material. Thanks to its tensile strength of 4900 MPa and elastic modulus of 250 GPa, it is effectively used for the structural strengthening of reinforced concrete beams, slabs and columns. Its unidirectional continuous fibre structure provides ease of design and application in flexural and shear strengthening applications. It is laminated onto surfaces primed with FOX CARBOND® PRIMER using FOX CARBOND® FIBER ADHESIVE. Available in roll form, 100 cm wide.

Application Steps

Surface Preparation
The surfaces to be repaired must be sound, dry, load-bearing, dust-free and clean. The surface must be thoroughly cleaned of all oil, grease, rust and paraffin residues that could weaken adhesion. Surface defects must be repaired with structural repair mortars. The application surface must be primed with FOX CARBOND® PRIMER. Prior to application, the carbon fibre fabric must be cut to the dimensions specified in the project.

Fabric Placement
FOX CARBOND® FIBER 6024 must be placed under tension in the direction of the fibres onto a surface coated with one layer of FOX CARBOND® FIBER ADHESIVE, and then pressed with a roller in the direction of the fibres to allow the adhesive to be absorbed into the fabric and to remove air voids.

Second Coat Adhesive Application
The second coat of FOX CARBOND® FIBER ADHESIVE must be applied to the surface of the fibrous carbon fabric with a roller, ensuring lamination between the two coats of adhesive. In multi-layer applications, FOX CARBOND® FIBER ADHESIVE must be applied with a roller between each layer and the fibrous carbon fabric must be pressed with a roller to laminate it within the adhesive.

Preparation of Surfaces to be Plastered
To allow plastering over the surface, after the final coat of FOX CARBOND® FIBER 6024 application, while the FOX CARBOND® FIBER ADHESIVE is still wet, sand must be scattered onto the surfaces to be plastered to create a rough texture that will facilitate plaster adhesion.

Tool Cleaning
Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned immediately with solvent.
FOX CARBOND® systems must be applied by specialist applicators.
Care should be taken to prepare only as much material as can be used within the working time.
Approaching storage and application areas with open flames is dangerous. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.
During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations must be worn.
During storage and application, contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.
The product must be stored between +5°C and +30°C, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry environment. Protect from frost.
For short-term storage, pallets must not be stacked more than 3 high and shipments must follow a first-in, first-out system. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of one another.
Technical property values are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions. Higher temperatures shorten the time; lower temperatures extend it.
