Product Description
FOX HISTOCRETE is a cement-free ready-mix plaster based on natural hydraulic lime, developed for historic masonry structures, containing natural silica aggregate and inorganic fibres. Thanks to the specially homogeneously distributed inorganic mineral fibres, the product has a shrinkage-free mortar structure that works by the same mechanism as traditional mortars, ensuring continuity on the applied surface. Since it contains no water-soluble salts, it can be safely preferred for the restoration of historic masonry structures. It is asbestos-free and environmentally friendly. Thanks to its ready-mix format, consistent product quality is achieved throughout the project without homogeneity issues on site.
Key Benefits
- Its cement-free formulation offers restoration compatible with the original character of historic structures.
- Its shrinkage-free structure minimises the risk of crack formation in the repair area.
- Since it contains no water-soluble salts, it can be safely recommended for historic masonry structures.
- The ready-mix format ensures uniform quality and mixing homogeneity throughout the project.
- Its asbestos-free, environmentally friendly composition complies with occupational safety standards.
- Offers a wide range of applications in interior and exterior spaces, as well as in natural stone and brick joints.
Advantages
- Thanks to the specially inorganic mineral fibres homogeneously distributed throughout the mix, a shrinkage-free mortar is obtained; working by the same mechanism as traditional mortars, a repair is achieved that ensures continuity on the applied surface.
- The use of ready-mix mortar due to continuously controlled production ensures consistent product quality in every project; achieving mixing homogeneity in site-prepared mortars is extremely difficult.
- FOX HISTOCRETE plaster, which contains no water-soluble salts, is one of the best products that can be recommended for the restoration of historic masonry structures.
- It is asbestos-free and environmentally friendly.
Usage Areas
- For interior and exterior plastering
- For repairs to existing plasters
- For repointing natural stone and brick walls
- For surface repairs
Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
Surfaces to be repaired and plastered must be sound, dust-free and clean. They must be free of foreign matter such as dirt, oil, grease, coatings and surface curing compounds that would reduce adhesion. The surface must be pre-wetted to improve the adhesion and setting time of the mortar. If there is water seepage on the surface, it must be sealed with a suitable plugging mortar; there must be no free water that would prevent adhesion.
- 2
Mixing
The appropriate amount of water is measured and poured into a clean mixing bucket. FOX HISTOCRETE is added gradually and mixed with a mixer at 400–600 rpm for 3–4 minutes until a homogeneous, lump-free mix is obtained. After resting for approximately 4 minutes and remixing for 30 seconds, the material is ready for use. Mixing ratio: 0.30–0.32 litres of water per 1 kg of powder; 6.0–6.4 litres of water per 20 kg bag.
- 3
Application
The prepared mortar is applied with a trowel in a thickness of 1–2 cm. The mortar is allowed to absorb water, then water is sprinkled over the surface with a plastering brush and the surface is finished as desired with a steel or wooden float. In multi-coat applications, each coat must be applied at a thickness of 1–2 cm before the previous coat has hardened, and the previous coat must be dampened before applying the new coat.

Curing and Protection
Large surfaces exposed to the atmosphere, especially in hot, dry or windy conditions, must be protected against rapid evaporation with hessian cloth or water for 24–48 hours after application. In exterior surface applications, the surface must be protected from sun, wind, rain and frost for the first 24–48 hours.
- 5
Tool Cleaning
Tools and equipment used must be cleaned with water after application. Once FOX HISTOCRETE has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means.
During application, the ambient and surface temperature must not be below +5°C or above +35°C.
For the material to complete its set, the ambient and substrate temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature.
In exterior surface applications, the surface must be protected from sun, wind, rain or frost for the first 24–48 hours after application.
The wall surface to which FOX HISTOCRETE is to be applied must be pre-wetted to improve the adhesion and setting time of the mortar. There must be no free water on the surface that would prevent adhesion.
If there is water seepage on the surface, it must be sealed with a suitable plugging mortar.

Opened packages must be stored under appropriate storage conditions and used within one week.
The product must be stored between +5°C and +30°C, in a cool and dry environment away from direct sunlight, protected from frost. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. In case of ingestion, consult a doctor immediately.
It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames; these areas must be ventilated.
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.
Once FOX HISTOCRETE has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means; tools and equipment must be cleaned with water immediately after application.
The technical values above are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions. Higher temperatures shorten the time, lower temperatures extend it.
