Product Description

FOX EPOGROUT FC550 is a three-component, solvent-free, self-levelling epoxy grout mortar consisting of A (Epoxy Resin), B (Epoxy Hardener), and C (Specially Graded Quartz). Its non-shrink structure and high adhesion to concrete and steel provide a reliable solution for industrial infrastructure applications. At +23°C ambient conditions, the compressive strength reaches >35 N/mm² after 1 day and >80 N/mm² after 7 days. No primer is required; it can be applied in a single layer between 4 mm and 50 mm. Consumption is approximately 2.10 kg/m² per mm depending on application thickness.

Key Benefits

  • Since no primer is required, the application process is completed faster and more economically.
  • Its non-shrink nature ensures long-term dimensional stability.
  • Its solvent-free formula allows safe application in enclosed spaces.
  • Forms a strong bond with adhesion strength of >2 N/mm² to concrete and >3 N/mm² to steel.
  • With compressive strength of >80 N/mm² at 7 days, it is safely used in heavy-load-bearing machine foundations.
  • High chemical, impact, and abrasion resistance delivers long-lasting performance in demanding industrial environments.

  • Repair of wide cracks in structures and floors

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

Surfaces to be repaired must be sound, dry, load-bearing, dust-free, and clean. The surface must be thoroughly cleaned of all oil, grease, rust, and paraffin residues that could weaken adhesion. The edges of the broken surface should be made as vertical as possible, and rust and residues on the reinforcement must be removed.

  2. 2

    Mixing

FOX EPOGROUT FC550 components A and B should be added to a clean mixing bucket and mixed for 2 minutes using an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm with a suitable mixing paddle. Component C should then be added slowly and mixed until a homogeneous, lump-free mixture is obtained.

  3. 3

    Application

The prepared mixture should be applied to the surface using a trowel. Thickness should be between 4 mm and 50 mm. The maximum application thickness in a single layer must not exceed 50 mm.

  4. 4

    Cleaning of Application Tools

Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned immediately with solvent. Once FOX EPOGROUT FC550 has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.

Critical

FOX EPOGROUT FC550 must not be applied at temperatures below +5°C or above +35°C.

Critical

The mixture prepared at +20°C must be applied within 30 minutes. This time is reduced to 20 minutes at +30°C.

Critical

No solvents or similar substances must be added to the prepared mixture during application.

Important

Large surfaces exposed to the atmosphere must be protected from rain and other external influences for 24–48 hours after application.

Important

For the material to complete its curing, the substrate temperature and ambient temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature.

Information

Working and reaction times of epoxy-based repair mortars are affected by air temperature, humidity, and substrate temperatures. High temperatures accelerate hydration; low temperatures slow it down.

Critical

Approaching storage and application areas with open flames is dangerous; these areas must be ventilated.

Important

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Critical

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.

Important

Opened packaging must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.

Important

Store in original packaging in a cool, dry place, protected from frost. For short-term storage, stack no more than 3 pallets high; for long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked.

Information

Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored correctly between +5°C and +30°C.
