Dualgum is an elastic waterproofing system with high elongation capacity, formed by mixing two components at the time of application. On moving details and on surfaces at risk of cracking, it allows the membrane to stretch without tearing. The layer build-up is determined by the movement and the water load of the surface to be treated.

Product Description
Dualgum is preferred in structures where the concrete moves and crack widths change over time. The elastic body absorbs this movement, while full adhesion prevents water from travelling beneath the membrane; when repair is needed, only the damaged area is renewed.
Key Benefits
- High mechanical and chemical resistance
- Easy to clean, dust-free surface
- Long lasting and easy to maintain
- Can be applied in different colour options
Advantages
- Provides excellent waterproofing
- Offers ≥4mm crack bridging. It retains its crack-bridging capability even at -26 oC
- Has extremely high elasticity (2000%)
- Tested and approved for resistance to bacterial attack for 30 days at 40 ˚C below ground
- Forms a jointless, seamless and permanent waterproofing layer
- Impermeable to radon gas
- Blocks methane gas
- Solvent-free, water-based and environmentally friendly
- Long-lasting; resistant to water, weak acids and certain salt solutions
- Can be used in horizontal and vertical applications
- Resistant to freeze-thaw cycles
- Provides trouble-free detailing; applied easily and quickly with a spray machine
- Can even be applied to fresh concrete
- Dries quickly (approximately 1 hour)
- Can be covered over one day after application

System Detail
Areas of Use
- On below-ground reinforced concrete surfaces in permanent contact with water
- On surfaces such as foundations and retaining concrete walls
- On retaining walls
- In basements and similar underground structures
- For protecting concrete against groundwater, chemical salts dissolved in water and micro-organisms
Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
The floor is opened up by milling or shot blasting; dust, oil and loose particles are completely removed.
- 2
Primer
A primer suited to the surface moisture is selected; quartz sand is broadcast onto the fresh primer.
- 3
Intermediate Layers
Depending on the type of system, waterproofing and/or a wearing layer is applied.
- 4
Top Coat
The top coat is applied in the selected colour and left to cure in a dust-free environment.
Which surfaces can the system be applied to?
It is applied to sound, load-bearing floors with sufficient surface tensile strength. The surface moisture must not exceed 4%.
When can it be put into use after application?
It can be opened to light use 24 hours after the top coat application and to full load after 7 days.
Can it be applied over an existing coating?
If the adhesion and strength of the existing coating are sufficient, it can be applied after surface preparation.
The surface moisture must not exceed 4%. At high moisture levels the primer adhesion drops and blistering occurs.
Application must not be carried out without observing the waiting times between coats.
Slight shade variations may occur between different production batches; using a single batch in the same area is recommended.
