Product Description

FOX THERM-ALL® PLAST FT385 is a cement-based, polymer and inorganic additive-enhanced, fibre-reinforced, ready-to-use general-purpose render that can be applied directly onto thermal insulation boards. It has been developed for use as a surface render in external wall insulation systems. It meets the requirements of TS 13687:2016 and TS EN 998-1:2018 GP, CSIV, WC1, A1, and stands out with excellent adhesion, extended workability and freeze-thaw resistance. Its composition of mineral fillers, synthetic additives and special polymers creates a surface ready for paint or mineral render application.

Advantages

  • Provides excellent adhesion.
  • Prevents the formation of surface cracks thanks to fibre reinforcement.
  • Easy to prepare and apply.
  • Extended working time.
  • Creates a surface ready for paint or mineral render application.
  • Resistant to freeze-thaw effects.

Usage Areas

  • Used as a surface render on external wall boards and thermal insulation boards.
  • Used for direct rendering of thermal insulation boards.
  • Used for coating concrete, prefabricated reinforced concrete elements, cement-bonded particle boards and previously rendered surfaces.

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The surface of the thermal insulation board to be applied must be free of dust and dirt. In addition, the mechanical dowelling process must have been completed.

  2. 2

    Mixing

The appropriate amount of water specified on the packaging is poured into a clean mixing container. FOX THERM-ALL® PLAST FT385 is slowly added to the water while mixing with an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm for approximately 2–3 minutes until homogeneous. Care must be taken to ensure no lumps remain in the mixture. After allowing the material to rest for 3–5 minutes during the maturation period, it is mixed again for 1 minute and made ready for application.

  3. 3

    Mixing Ratios

Approximately 6.00±0.25 litres of water should be used per 25 kg/1 bag of FOX THERM-ALL® PLAST FT385. Approximately 240±10 ml of water should be used per 1 kg of product.

  4. 4

    Application

After thermal insulation boards are bonded with FOX THERM-ALL® FIX FT383, they are mechanically dowelled. After one coat of render is applied to the board, the render mesh is evenly embedded into this 1st coat. After the 1st coat has dried, the 2nd coat of render is applied to complete the rendering process. Application thickness can be 3–5 mm depending on preference. If the rendered surface is to remain unpainted for more than 3 weeks, FOX THERM-ALL® COATPRIM FT110 must be applied immediately.

  5. 5

    Tool and Equipment Cleaning

After application, tools and equipment used must be cleaned with water. Once FOX THERM-ALL® PLAST FT385 has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.

Critical

If the ambient and surface temperature is below +5°C or above +30°C, application must not be carried out; suitable temperatures must be awaited.

Critical

For outdoor applications, the surface must be protected from sunlight, rain, wind and frost for the first 24 hours.

Critical

To allow the material to fully cure, the substrate and ambient temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature.

Important

In cement-based repair mortars, working and reaction times are affected by air temperature, humidity and substrate temperatures. High temperatures accelerate hydration and shorten working time; low temperatures slow hydration and extend working time.

Important

If the rendered surface is to remain unpainted for more than 3 weeks, FOX THERM-ALL® COATPRIM FT110 must be applied immediately.

Important

Opened packaging must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.

Important

The product must be stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, between +5°C and +30°C. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Important

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Critical

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Critical

Approaching storage and application areas with open flames is dangerous. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.

Important

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.

Information

The technical values above are given at +23°C and 50% relative humidity. High temperatures shorten the time; low temperatures extend it.
