Product Description
FOX MIXAIR FM202 is a colourless air-entraining/plasticising admixture that generates micro air bubbles in cement-based mortars and concretes to improve workability and enhance freeze-thaw resistance. It meets the requirements of EN 934-2+A1:2012 Table 5 and EN 934-3+A1:2012 Table 2.
With a density of 1.00 gr/cm³, the product is preferred for repair mortars, concrete applications requiring improved water impermeability, and concretes that are difficult to place and compact. Compatible with all types of cement, FOX MIXAIR FM202 prevents segregation and slump loss in fresh concrete; it reduces water content, thereby lowering the water-cement ratio and contributing to strength. The dosage is 25–50 ml per 50 kg of cement.
Advantages
- Improves workability.
- Increases freeze-thaw resistance.
- Reduces water content, thereby lowering the water-cement ratio and contributing to strength.
- Prevents segregation and slump loss in fresh concrete.
- Facilitates compaction by vibration.
- Has a positive, albeit minor, contribution to the water permeability of concrete.
- Compatible with all types of cement.
Usage Areas
- In repair mortars
- In applications requiring concrete with improved water impermeability
- To improve workability in concretes that are difficult to place and compact
Application Steps
- 1
Preparing the Product
Shake the product thoroughly before use.
- 2
Determining the Dosage
Use 25 ml – 50 ml of FOX MIXAIR FM202 per 50 kg of cement. (General dosage: 0.05% – 0.10% of cement weight)
- 3
Adding to the Mix
Add the product to the cement-based mortar or concrete mix together with the mixing water or separately, and mix until a homogeneous distribution is achieved.
Fly-ash-based cements, organic components in sand, and clay may affect product performance.
Shake the product thoroughly before use.
The product must be stored at room temperature between +5°C and +30°C, away from direct sunlight. It must be protected from frost.
Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture. Opened packaging must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.
For short-term storage, pallets must not be stacked more than 3 high and shipments must follow a first-in, first-out system. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.
Approaching storage and application areas with open flames is dangerous; areas must be ventilated.
During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes during storage and application. In case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.
The values in the technical table are given for conditions of +23°C and 50% relative humidity. Higher temperatures shorten the time; lower temperatures extend it.
